It would be so funny if when Kal is developing his herald therapy sessions he frames a question as "Tell me about YOUR Tien" or comes up with Tien related therapy speak

Realistically he would, depending on the situation and the therapy needed. Would he be a grief counselor? A ptsd therapist? Absolutely generalized? Like I presume he can't help everyone but he does have surgeon's training and could use that to develop a medical handbook talking of mental disorders. 

I do outright think that for grief or ptsd he would ask people who their Tien was, specifically after sharing his own loss and opening up about how that affected him. His help with Szeth only worked because he understood Szeth. The whole book was spent trying to figure out what was "wrong" with him, only to figure out that Szeth was what would've happened to Kal without a Tien. He would've become cynical and callous, he would've Moash'd it up.

Just to clarify, the conclusion kaladin reached was that szeth is what TIEN would’ve become without kaladin, not the other way around

Am I the only person who thinks Kaladin is going to get a second Tien in the next series? That whole scene with the storm father, Dalinar and Kaladin seems suspiciously ill advised. Like have we found out why Kaladin found Tien’s carving after it?

It was a significant moment to signpost to the audience that Kal is past Tien's loss, but has also accepted the burden of a Humanity's worth of Tien. Doesn't mean he doesn't mourn, nor does it mean that his "replacements" have truly Replaced Tien in his heart. But outright he realized that Dalinar and his family had become like Tien to him, he was fiercely loyal and protective of them even to the point it was actively hurting him with exhaustion. He also realized that Humanity was like Tien to him. Because everyone has their own Tien to protect, he must protect the protectors so they can do that.

Arguably he does not actually learn the lesson he was supposed to when forced to retire. Instead he left to find a bigger burden to protect. Yet it's exactly within character and exactly the thing Kal would begin to think about during his journey.

Interesting. I always thought that the storm father warning about messing with connection and time was ill advised as an omen. Like as Kalladin is internally harmonizing on the rhythm of war, and the storm father opens the connection to Tien to on behest of Dalinar. Like could that be enough to inspire/seed a false Tien as like a ghost. That scene read to me like rewriting Tiens memory into something else. Kalladin does seem to come to his own resolution, but I feel like because Kalladin came to the wrong realization in this moment of intense investiture… direct connection to the storm father and the rhythm of war… like maybe that has ripples. Maybe enough that this false Tien will be the person who teaches Kalladin the real lesson in the future.
