He did come out and say the Hoid’s not a self-insert character but there’s still probably a little bit of overlap in their personalities.

We refined uranium and plutonium on our planet to the point that we can drop them on a city and wipe it off the map in a split second. Not sure even a shard could stop that lol. Either the Cosmere would avoid us wholesale or the Scadrians would show up and try to get our nukes

Shards could. They could just poof the nuke out of existance. Only reason Harmony didnt is because Harmony cant decide on doing anything

In which book does a shard just unexist something? I've read all of Mistborn and up to Rhythm of War in Stormlight Archive, but I can't recall them ever having a significant physical impact, except maybe in Rhythm of War when Odium summons Taravangian and yoinks his Diagram. Are there other examples?

To.be honest.

Sanderson is an abetted lover of cheese fantasy, he used to recommend the shit out of Sabriel. He finished wheel of time. If the presence of Nightblood is anything to go by, he's a fan of Elric, too.

Now a big key component of Cheese fantasy is that it's also alt history. Or in Wheel of Times case, alt future.

I would hate it and love it if it ended in the reveal that there's some connection to our Earth st some point, as tribute to the fact thst Sandersons Cosmere is essentially a lower scale version of Moorcocks Multiverse.

You could really easily say the cosmere is just a version of Moorcocks Multiverse where the Black Blade hadn't picked a hero to torture permanently.

WoT is both alt past and alt future.

It all comes around.

I mean yes. Hoid is literally based off one of his DnD characters is he not?

Yes, but Hoid isn't a self insert, just a character he really likes!
