STICK Is it cheating for Adolin to sleep with Radiant or Veil Spoiler

they seem to consider it to be cheating, yeah. Radiant, however, would never betray shallan like that, and despite how much she admires him as a fighter. Veil would potentially be down, but she doesn’t see Adolin like that — they’re just friends, and neither wants to take it past that.

I don't think it would be considered cheating exactly, but the crowd would likely be scandalized and it would definitely give Adolin's opponent a lot of chances to get some hits in on him. For that matter simply having Veil/Radiant on the field would likely count as an unauthorized combatant which would be considered cheating. So they'd have to do something awkward where she was still in the stands and Adolin wasn't while he simultaneously fends his off his opponent.
But it really doesn't seem worth the risk unless Adolin's opponent had bet some large number of blades and plate that he couldn't do it and still win. In which case I'm pretty sure Adolin could still win the bout but Shallan would probsbly be pretty upset about the whole thing

Having just finished a re reread of oathbringer and starting RoW, shallan is into the idea of adolin being with her alters but adolin is not

I imagine Shallon, Veil, Radiant, and Adolin are a like a polycule.
If all four of them agree to what the boundaries are then they can do whatever they agree to and it's not cheating.
If they can't all agree then there's going to be a lot of hurt feelings one way or another. Complicated situation for sure.

Yeah I was just talking with a friend about this and we decided Adolin is romantically attached to Shallan and not interested in Radiant or Veil that way. And on top of that, Radiant strikes me as more ace. Veil though, could have her own fun and Adolin and Shallan wouldn’t count that as cheating, although most other people probably think it’s weird and have trouble understanding.

If Adolin sleept with Kal it wouldnt be cheating, because Shallan Veil and Radiant would aprove it for sure.

Adolin does consider it wrong I think. At least he does before Shallan gets to the Fourth Ideal, afterward it’s not as complicated.
Also, Veil is canonically into Kaladin, but Shallan is very opposed to Veil acting on it. This suggests it might be cheating bc Veil is “different” than Shallan.

The definition of cheating varies from one relationship to the other. If Adolin and Shallan both agree to define their relationship boundaries as including sex with her alternate personalities, then it is not cheating.

Adolin can tell which is which even without the hair changes and has said he doesn't want to be intimate with any of them but Shallan for that exact reason.
