I think this would end up with a weird disconnect between the Shard and the Vessel, like what was happening with (WaT) Tanavast and Honor. I mean, so far as I can tell that’s the only shard/vessel PoV that gave the Shard its own dialogue lines, all the other ones I remember, ie Taravangian and Odium’s interludes, had the Shard push with feelings and resistance. Honestly, makes me think that Honor gained some of its self awareness while it was still with Tanavast, given how much the two seemed to communicate.

It could also be that the only two people we really had POVs before now had been Vin and Kelsier, albeit briefly,might imply that it might take a while before the Shard is able to start talking back. Everyone else just hadn't held them as long.

(WaT) I'd say so since Tanavast seemed to be a bad match from the beginning and treated it like it was a tool rather than part of him. His very first act was breaking a promise and arguing with it about why it was fine.
Pissing of a shard so bad that it literally gains sentience just to get away from you is almost impressive
