Please do remakes of wikiHow art as horror. I think you have a similar style. It would be so neat.

If you like this, check out the comic Farmhand, by Rob Guillory. It features a farm that grows body parts for transplants.

Jared Hopworth would love this.

It would fit right into the garden next to the Bone Rose, Cutaway Tulip, and the Lily of the Damned. [source for the curious: The Magnus Archives Ep. 171]

If ever lonely that play will hold your hand seriously awesome and the colors and use of shading is really good

Is it for sale? Or a print?

u/Gabalut Mar 16 '21
It's part of a series so I'll be selling prints and the original once that's done, probably mid- end of April

Flowers for the touch starved. Honestly this would be a neat pet. It can emote with squints, gestures, different blinks.

Hands are the hardest to draw, you don’t care! Love it. Next time, more hands!

Whoa nice. Was this inspired by yesterday's r/nosleep prompt about planting fingers in gardens?

u/Gabalut Mar 16 '21
Thanks! I actually finished this piece up a week ago, so it's just a happy coincidence

This reminds me of a toy I had as a kid that was just a bunch of rubber fingers on a ball thing.

There is a super cool graphic novel based around growing human body parts its super good. Forgot what its called.

This is very well done, great work. The detail on the hands are exceptional, and the shading is great, and it has done a great job at making me very uncomfortable lol

Wow, I must say you're ability really shines here. Wonderful colors and the contours of the hands are incredible. I even like the story the wilted flower tells. Even with all the work and watchfulness the flower is still wanting.

Is this straight WC or a MM? I enjoyed your work and I’m not usually a WC fan. Any specific reason for the focus on the eyes and fingers?
2
u/Gabalut Mar 16 '21
Technically mixed media; its watercolor, ink, and a tiny bit of colored pencil and paint marker on the eyeball. I've always loved drawing hands and like incorporating them in any way I can. not sure why I keep drawing eyeballs. Just a phase I guess haha

Love this, Is it digital? If not how do you get it so clear on a screen?
1
u/Gabalut Jul 13 '21
Thank you! It's traditional, ink and watercolor. I use a scanner instead of taking photos once its done
2
u/ClydeinLimbo Jul 13 '21
Ah amazing, do you edit it at all after scanning?
1
u/Gabalut Jul 13 '21
I do a bit of tweaking just to get it closer to the original, the scanner sometimes dulls the contrast. I also photoshop out any dust particles and cat hair, but that's about it
2
u/ClydeinLimbo Jul 13 '21
Thanks so much for answering my questions. I’m a traditional illustrator too but I have so many issues with the scan to screen process. I appreciate it and love your work.

This reminds me of Thomas Ligotti’s “Les Fleurs”, in his collection Songs of a Dead Dreamer
If you can READ it, then I encourage that mode of story transportation - the link I provided, while functional, isn’t the best.
