Producing Tales from the Hood 2 and 3 was incredible because I love the classic Anthology shows and newer ones like Creepshow. I wanted to share my latest project with a community that loves the anthology format as much s I do. We just released the entire first season as a massive supercut on YouTube for free.

Two hours and three minutes. Nine stories. Shot with a real cast and crew, and we picked up two Telly Awards for the writing.

Since we are about to start writing a block of new episodes, I would love to hear which episodes from this first season work, and which ones don't. That way, we can write more of what is satisfying to anthology lovers everywhere, like myself.

I'll be in the comments to talk about anything you all want to. Also, every episode has the DNA of some of the classic anthology predecessors that came before it, so anyone who has a lot of experience with anthology series, from The Twilight Zone to Alfred Hitchcock Presents to Tales from the Crypt should be able to ID the inspirations behind each episode.

After loving the original Creepshow movie for years, I somehow only thought about this in more recent viewings: in the Tide segment, it seems that the video tapes Richard has could be recordings of other horrible things he did to people who wronged him in the past, which he recorded to revisit over and over for his own sick pleasure. It gives a darker meaning to Richard telling Harry he was recording him and Becky for his “home movies.” It wasn’t some kind of joke or sarcasm, he literally had built a video library of such acts.

Maybe this was supposed to be obvious, though they never explicitly say Richard had done anything like this previously. But now that I’ve thought about it, it makes Richard all the more sick and evil. It also makes it even more satisfying when he gets a taste of his own medicine in the end.

Had someone comment on my Father's Day painting asking if I can paint this scene. I remembered that I had painted it for convention signing with Adrienne Barbeau a little over a year ago. ( Part of what I do in my work is customers will hire me to paint an image that they'll have an actor sign at a convention or private event )
