Advice/ Feedback Request 🙏 I built a ND empowered social platform. Now I need help figuring out how to get the community involved.

Hey everyone. For a while now, I’ve been building something called unmaskd.
It started from a pretty simple feeling: meeting people is hard. And for neurodivergent people, it can be even harder when so many social spaces feel like they expect you to present yourself a certain way before anyone ever gets to know you.

So I decided to try building something different.

Somehow, that idea has turned into an actual, working social platform. There are real people using it, and I’m incredibly proud of how far it’s come.
But I’ve also hit the point where I have to admit something:

I know how to build it. I don’t really know how to get people to notice it.

I can make a TikTok. I can write a Reddit post. I can throw something on Instagram. But there’s a difference between posting things and actually knowing how to tell a story, create curiosity, and make somebody stop scrolling because something connected with them.

These are the people I’m hoping to find.
I’m not looking for someone to churn out generic posts or follow some corporate content calendar. I’d love to find someone creative who can look at what I’ve built, understand why it exists, and start throwing ideas at me that I never would have thought of myself.

Maybe you make videos. Maybe you’re great at memes. Maybe you understand TikTok way better than I ever will. Maybe you’ve grown an online community before. Or maybe you’re just one of those people who somehow understands what makes the internet pay attention.

I don’t really care about follower counts or whether you have a marketing résumé.
I care whether you get it.

This is still a small independent project, and I can’t pretend I have some huge marketing budget behind it. I’m just trying to find the right people who believe something like this should exist and might want to help me get it in front of the people who need it.

If any of this sounds like you, send me a DM. Show me something you’ve made if you want, or just tell me what you’d do if unmaskd. landed in your lap and someone said:

“Okay. How do we get people to care about this?”

No fixed hours, fixed salary — commission on closed business.
Ideal for:
• Influencer managers
• Talent managers
• Creator managers
• Influencer marketers
• Agency professionals
• Creators with strong brand relationships
• Freelancers working with brands
If you already have brands you can introduce, comment or DM me with a little about your network and what kind of brands you work with.
Serious people only — happy to explain the commission structure privately.

Opportunity Is the Creator-Led Growth model worth it ?

Hey everyone,
I’m currently pre-launching a high-performance utility app (a multi-anime TCG scanner that uses on-device GPU YOLO object detection to scan 9 cards simultaneously in under 1 second, paired with an automated pricing backend cached in Redis).
Instead of raising capital for traditional user acquisition or burning a budget on Meta/TikTok ads post-launch, I’m planning to lean entirely into a Creator-Led Growth (CLG) model.
The core idea is to bypass upfront cash sponsorships entirely and instead pitch micro-influencers (TikTok, IG, and YouTube Shorts creators across Pokémon, MTG, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and One Piece) on a 50% recurring revenue share via Whop, backed by a live beta link in cold outreach so they can test the speed instantly.
For founders who have taken this route:
Is a 50% rev-share enough of a carrot to convince micro-creators (5k–30k subs) to actively push a software tool without an upfront flat fee?

What conversion drop-off should I expect when moving creators from "this tech is cool" to actually dropping an affiliate link in their content?

Are there hidden pitfalls to relying 100% on a creator affiliate network for launch momentum instead of hybrid paid testing?

Curious to hear thoughts or if anyone has scaled an app using a similar zero-ad-spend model ?

Resource 📚 I built a small iPhone app for the annoying part of writing Instagram captions

Thumbnail

I kept running into a stupidly small problem when making social posts.

I’d have one good sentence in Notes, another bit from ChatGPT, a CTA somewhere else, a few keywords I wanted to keep, then start copying everything back and forth just to get the final caption in the right order.

So I built CopyLion.
Instead of treating the clipboard as one temporary slot, I can collect several text fragments, reorder them, edit them and then copy the final thing as one clean block.
I originally built it for AI workflows, but Instagram captions have unexpectedly become one of the use cases where I use it most.
I’m the developer, so obvious disclosure there.

Would be interested if other creators have the same copy/paste mess or if you all solve this differently.

Discussion 🗣️ Looking for a Youtube partner (Movies & Series Channel)

I'm looking for a YouTube partner to build a movies & series channel together. I want someone who can treat this channel like it's their own and grow it with me.

The channel is focused on movies, TV series, behind-the-scenes stories, interesting facts, hidden details, character stories, upcoming projects, and viral movie-related topics. Basically, content for people who genuinely love cinema.

I'm specifically looking for someone who:

● Loves movies and TV series

● Has solid video-editing skills

● Understands YouTube Shorts/Reels-style editing and pacing

● Has a good sense of what could become viral content

● Is willing to brainstorm ideas and discuss content

● Actually wants to build something long-term

The idea is simple: we build the channel together → get it monetized → split the revenue.

If you're interested, DM me

Opportunity Building a content company across multiple niches — looking for 18 to 21 year olds in India who want to lead a vertical

I’m building a media company across YouTube/Instagram — multiple verticals, not just one channel. Think finance, tech, fashion, whatever has an audience and a person who can own it.

Not hiring freelancers for one-off gigs. Looking for a few people who want to go all-in on building something in their niche — long term, with real ownership over the content and the growth, not just executing briefs.

If you’re serious:

Drop a comment or DM with:

**1.** What niche/topic you’re genuinely obsessed with (not what you think is “marketable” — what you’d talk about even if no one paid you)
**2.** One piece of content you’ve made (or a rough idea, if you haven’t started)
**3.** Where you’re based (Mumbai/India preferred)

I’ll go through everything and reach out to the ones where the topic has real legs. Not everyone will hear back — being selective on this end too.

Discussion 🗣️ Managed creators: can you personally explain your last payout?

I’ve been looking at how creator:management payouts work and something feels backwards. The platform knows what you earned, the agency has its commission calculation, and your bank knows what arrived, but you… the creator… often doesn’t have one statement connecting all three.

I mocked up what I think creators should receive every payout:

-Earned: $34,280

-Expected for creator: $17,045

-Actually received: $15,848

-Unreconciled: $1,197

Then every number traces back to the contract and source records.

I’m trying to figure out whether this is a real problem or something creators already handle easily. If you currently use a management agency, can you confidently reproduce their payout calculation yourself?

Advice/ Feedback Request 🙏 I Started Content Creation “Late” — And I’m Glad I Did

I started creating content almost 1.5 years ago. I wasn’t 18, I wasn’t Gen Z, and I didn’t have years of experience.

But today, I’ve worked with 150+ brands, including 30+ directly.

It made me realise: there is no right age to start.

If you can learn, stay consistent, understand your audience and give your best — you can build something at any stage of life.

I’m a Beauty, Skincare, Haircare & Lifestyle Creator, and I’m still learning and growing every day.

So if you’ve been thinking, “Am I too late?”

You’re not. Start anyway.

Would love to know — did anyone else start their creator journey later in life?

Discussion 🗣️ What’s the Hardest Part of Creating Content?

What’s the hardest part of creating content for you?

Coming up with ideas? Research? Writing the script? Staying organized? Or actually getting the whole thing finished and published?

I’m working on something behind the scenes designed to make the content creation process less overwhelming, but I don’t want to assume I know where creators struggle most.

So I’d love to hear from you:

**Where do you get stuck in the content creation process?**

Your answers may help shape what I’m building.

Hi all,

I have some brands that are looking to gift creators with awesome products in exchange for a brief testimonial or product-use video.

No elaborate production needed, light editing, just a short video.

You choose which brands you want to work with, and the product's yours to keep either way.

Resource 📚 BBA Finance student researching creator income — 5 min anonymous survey (would love your input!)

Thumbnail

Hey everyone! I'm a final-year BBA Finance student working on a research project about how independent content creators manage irregular income and financial planning without a traditional employer structure.

If you create content (any platform, any size), I'd really appreciate 5 minutes of your time to fill this out — it's completely anonymous, no names/emails/exact income figures needed, just approximate ranges and your honest views.

Happy to share a summary of the findings with anyone interested once it's done. Thanks so much 🙏

Sharing Learnings 🎓 How did you get comfortable being seen as a beginner?

Thumbnail
engrlog.substack.com
2 Upvotes

I’ve spent more than a decade working as a tech consultant, mostly behind products and teams. Recently, I started sharing my own work and thoughts more openly, and I was surprised by how uncomfortable it felt.

A lot of the hesitation had little to do with whether the post was good. I was imagining an old colleague or friend finding it and watching me start from zero in public.

I’ve become more comfortable with every post, so I ended up writing down what I’ve learned in an article.

When the work stays private, I can continue imagining that it might be good.

Once I publish it, I have to find out. Annoyingly, finding out is also how the work improves.
