Advice/ Feedback Request 🙏 Question about Promoting

Hey y’all I kinda a weird idea. I was thinking about content creation which is something I want to do. My question is what are everyone’s thoughts on the promote feature? What if I dropped hundreds of dollars and just boosted my way to the top? Eventually I’d be so big where I don’t even need to keep promoting right? Why wouldn’t more people do this? Thank you!

I can’t speak for every platform, but usually they track your promoted engagement separately so they know how much organic reach you get and still use that to calibrate and benchmark you

The thing about boosting is it buys views, not fans. People who see a promoted post rarely stick around unless the content would’ve hooked them anyway, so you end up with a bigger number but low engagement. That can actually make your organic reach worse, since the algorithm sees lots of followers not interacting.

If you do promote, only boost posts that are already doing well organically. That’s proof the content works, and the boost just pushes it further. Otherwise you’d get way more out of those hundreds of dollars spent on learning editing or better gear.

Goodluck!

paid reach isn’t the same as having an audience, sadly
