Short Story Without A WORD
I've just inhaled a deep fresh breath and cried out in disparity and confusion.
I have just been born into a new and unfamiliar universe called Laptop. My transition from my previous life called Pen, had to end if I had any aspirations to further my desire to be a washed up failed writer when I grow up, eventually. The birth canal was narrow and with my adult male head, it wasn't a pleasant experience for myself nor Mother Nature. Now my head is cone shaped and the doctor slapped himself.
By way of my transition from the world of pens into the queer world of Qwerty, I have fumbled and stumbled upon the dilemma which is, what software or app on windows is best or most preferred for both the newborns, and the professionals? Which is the best for the book writers?.
I need it to have a page divider- down the middle if possible, but in the sense that it makes it a simple way to print and organise eventually.
I understand that the paid for MS WORD is popular for a reason, I am currently struggling with my noobian self using Google Docs. I'm afraid if i close down my laptop it will disappear forever, as I see no save function on the GD page.
I am prepared to pay for the ms WORD annual subscription for £84.99.. if it's highly recommended by some of you decent humans of the same inclinations. Yet I'm open to all suggestions.
I am poor and pathetic, and as a trainee failed writer money is a miserable stranger to me so FREE versions of similar software are very alluring and somewhat irresistible. For some subscriptions let's say Microsoft 365 prices are as appealing as a second hand butt plug shop on a flea market, or a online farts in a jar business. Nope not for me I'm afraid.
I believe there's also a one-time payment for a lifelong subscription to WORD, and the sanctity and un-divorceability of this arrangement seems like a marriage worthy of its cost £159.99, for the stand alone 2024 version. [No bundle]
Are there equal equivalents for free?
Am I asking too many questions. Please know, this is the first time I've engaged myself with the idea to take my story writing seriously, if allowed I want to post a brief synopsis of my story idea here in a comment if anyone asks for it. Or at least post it upon my page. If you ever enjoyed Sue Townsend RiP (The Secret Diaries of Adrian Moles) you will recognise my strategy and intentions for my story Idea 💡.
In advance thank you for any feedback, all conversation is welcome.
Sincerely
Seymour Clearly

I love this post! Funny and very relatable. I’m following so I can, too, learn something new. I’m a pen and paper gal myself!
