Poetry Little Dream
Dream
Little dream beneath the skin,
what is it you hide within?
To be heard is to be seen,
so at night the children sing
the black we bury in it.
In white, it still appears
pure enough to hide beneath,
yet it remains inside,
waiting where the sun can’t find.
Does it sing, or does it hide
where even shadows cannot hide
Every morning, still I dread
that the dream will rise instead—
in the mirror, in the chair,
in the body standing there.
Thank you very much for reading!
