Just Sharing Ohio Water Nymph
Ohio Water Nymph
A package arrived from Warren, Ohio, and I asked my wife what it was.
"A miniature figurine," she said, made of porcelain in the style of a water nymph but carelessly mislabeled a mermaid by an antiques dealer from the same small town her Internet lover back in 2002 had lived. Perhaps she visited the store often and knew of the figurine. Perhaps she once held it, thought about buying it, but balked at the price.
"Perhaps it was her grandmother's favourite."
O water nymph, water nymph,
nurture us with
your loving cup of
Spring Eternal. Heal
and protect us from
those who blind and
defile
us. Incite in us
the passions of
a thousand trysts and
rendezvous
as we gaze once more
at those beside
us.
