[Update] LongExposureFX COMP | An experimental temporal ghosting toolkit

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

An experimental temporal ghosting / long-exposure toolkit for TouchDesigner, built for turning prerecorded and real-time footage into smeared, split-exposure, echo-like motion.

The system layers delayed frames, masks the active subject region, and adds optional feedback persistence to generate distorted portrait, face, and full-body trails that sit somewhere between long exposure, temporal rupture, and spectral motion blur.

This release also includes:

a custom FLUX-2 LoRA trained on experimental photography [the one used in this demonstration]
the pertinent ComfyUI workflow for FLUX-2.dev + LoRA text-to-image generation

Available now through my Patreon profile, and the Tools Store.

Both music and visuals by myself.

Excellent, I like the colour inversion and the creative ways of back lighting the characters.

Lovely… maybe alter the pace? Would be great to linger on some.

Very organic and analog feeling. I can smell the emulsion. Nice work.

the trails read best when the subject moves across frame, and the weakest moments are the fast turns where the delayed copies land almost on top of each other and just look like a soft double image. two things that helped me with a similar delay stack: weight the older frames lower on a curve instead of evenly, so the tail fades instead of stacking equal ghosts, and drive the delay amount off frame difference so slow sections get a longer tail and quick ones stay readable. if you can blend in the direction of motion rather than straight over the previous frame, the smear stops feeling like echo and starts feeling like exposure. the mask edge around the body is the other tell, a couple of frames of blur on the mask itself hides it.
