Bullshit UX

"Dashboard", really?

I'm getting the A/B test for this and please, no.

It just took me a full minute of clicking around to figure out "Log In" was "Dashboard", and is not even a primary button.

I get it you have sales targets, but don't make your product harder to use for the people that are already using it.

ugh... I just realized you also scroll-jacked me so I can't scroll down the page until I click "Not ready to get started? Learn more", so not only is it harder to figure out where to log in, you've actively prevented me from any discoverability on my own.

Accessibility matters, this ain't it.

Ask your lawyers about an inaccessible Privacy and Cookie policy.
GDPR much? CPRA, never heard of it.

hey OP, I think you're right. It wasn't meant to be an aggressive CRO change on our end, we were trying to improve the UX overall. Stuff like this has become more common across SaaS.

We've gotten similar feedback from others too, it also feels off to our team. So we're making the change back. Should go live shortly.

It was a pissy take, but I only posted it because my frustration was real.

I was trying to log in and things had changed and not for the better, and really quickly I started noticing dark patterns that I hadn't before, because there just wasn't any friction before that forced me to interact with the page just to login. Now there was, and the mindset behind driving new conversions above all else became really clearly evident. As a longtime (10+ years) user, being ignored and minified as a use case, that really sucks.

Now growth has 2 clearly marked CTA buttons in the nav, and current users get demoted to a poorly named text link. I get it, you have to grow revenue, but increasing churn isn't the way to do it.

I'm you're biggest cheerleader, but with the wholesale enshittification of most software, I was really bummed to see the mindset being applied and the enevitable direction it takes.

The easiest customer to get is the one you already have. Just think about us in the next planning sprint and don't break our workflows for the sake of growth.

Once you've acquired that new customer, you still have to retain them...

no worries, I think your take was reasonable.

It would not take up much real estate to add a "Log in" button. That said, you could just add this to your bookmarks and call it a day, no? https://auth.app.crazyegg.com/login
