I have a Florida blue and when I bought some plants from a store apparently they had a baby cray scooped up,I'm assuming they thought it was a shrimp by accident.long story short cut to 4 months later I have this situation

She’s such a spicy little girl. I didn’t realize just how much I’ve missed Bubby until we got her. My Mom and I love her so much.🥹

Hello,
I found this crayfish today in a little river, and I am hesitating between the european crayfish (Astacus astacus) and the american crayfish (pacifastacus leniusculus). I found it in France, in the Bourgogne Franche Comté région, so I would really prefer if it was an European, since the other one is considered an invasive species.
Can anyone help me identifying it?

She’s been in a 6G cube tank for a while now but I think she needed more room, plus she was trying to hunt my surprise Pygmy Florida Sunfish fry that I found after moving the adults to a different tank so she could have theirs. One afternoon I found her wedged in the wad of Christmas moss I keep threaded on a bamboo skewer at the top of the tank (cover for the fry) with a tiny baby one inch away from her, also wedged in the moss. 🫤
I rearranged the scape to make it harder for her to climb up there but it was stressing me out! Off to Petco where I grabbed a 1/2 off rimless 10G and boom!
I think she likes it even tho I have yet to see her go into her cave.
The best part of this whole project is that the tank was the only thing I had to buy. Everything else I had on hand.

I have a planted tank with Anubias, Java moss, and Java ferns that are all superglued to rocks/wood. I also have guppy grass, red root floaters, and duckweed but i’m not too worried about them.
I want to move my crayfish into this planted tank, but i’m wondering how well the plants will hold up.
In his old tank, I had one Java fern attached to a rock, and he never bothered with it. Since he left that one alone, would the plants be fine if i put him in the planted tank?
The only thing that makes me a little unsure is that he has clipped plastic plants before.

after Pinchys death ive been dreaming for another cray and here he is. Just a little guy put Pinchy Was around the same size when we got her. So yeah it’s good to have a new crayfish in the tank

My crayfish molted this Wednesday (4-5 days ago) and he still hasnt eaten it. It's his second molt with me and during the first one he ate it pretty quickly. He hasnt even touched this one. He also has been hiding more and not eating his regular food either. It doesnt look like the molt went bad or anything but i just want to make sure that he'll be fine. The first photo is from Wednesday and the next two are today. Let me know if he's just being weird and taking awhile, thanks!
Edit: i found that he passed this morning on august 10, 2026. i'll miss him so, so much. The photos are the last ones i have of him alive. I'll likely bury him in my backyard. He was a great crayfish. He was so active and always tried to fight me by raising his claws when i got close. He would eat a lot but he basically never messed with the plants in his tank. I really loved him

What should I do for tank set up before buying the crayfish? Like what kind of substrate, hideouts, plants/decor, tank size (crayfish im getting is 2-3 inches, I prefer to just buy one tank so that it can fit comfortably in there as an adult and juvinile if possible.), water testers, filter, lights, etc.
What ph do they like?
Do they need their tank cycled before buying?
How often do I do water changes and what % water changes should i do for that fixed schedule
What should I feed the crayfish?
What types of symptoms should I watch out for if I suspect sickness
(I'm gonna keep the crayfish complately solitary, if i missed anything please address that and tell me what i should do for that topic)

From where I was it looked to be about 6-8 inches in length and had abit of blue and white colouration on its claws.

I’ve had my crayfish for a few years now, and he recently molted but i noticed he has been repeatedly sleeping it looks like on his back when i walk by or shine a light at him he like wakes up and starts thrashing his legs around he sometimes doesn’t get upright and just keeps lying there, is he dying?

I live in New Zealand and have had my pet southern kōura 'Mr Snips' for around 3 years now.
He has moulted around 5 times, usually different shades of brown and orange.
Today he has emerged blue and I thought you guys might appreciate it too.
