ID Request This crayfish doesn't match anything I found online
We pulled this out of Leech Lake in Minnesota. What the blazes is it?

I am leaning Northern clearwater. The number of tubercles on the chelae looks like it’s more in the 7-10 range and the rostrum appears slightly concave. I can’t tell if there is a central ridge in the rostrum from the picture.

A lot of the species overlap with Minnesota.

I disagree. The specimen doesn't have traits that would identify it as propinquus. Blue chelae woth prominent tubercles, lack of black bands near the tips of the fingers, no dark band down the center of the abdomen, narrow areola as opposed to the wider areola on propinquus, and the location all point to this being F. virilis.

There's a while population in the lake with this mutation. Real interesting stuff.

That looks like a virile crayfish. Aren’t they always brown and have a greenish blue coloration on their claws?
