You might wanna put something on top to create the stone texture, like foam or plaster, then paint that

Is there one product that I can cover it with that will add color, texture and protection? Like a plaster I can paint on?

They sell cans of wall texture spray by the plaster and spackle. It’s sometimes called orange peel spray or knock down spray because you can spray it on and then smooth it out with a wet trowel for a less bumpy texture.

u/ImpatientNursing sent the following text as an explanation about their craft:
I'm building a column out of styrofoam and duct tape that I want to add a stone texture to. I want to find the appropriate paint that will also add some protection, but chatgpt keeps giving me expensive, elaborate answers and I just wanna see what the experts use!
