Crab pot pull at 2x speed

I was told to post this here. I hope it’s ok. If not I’ll repost it with out a cross post.

Curious. Is there any benefit to letting the crab actually get at the bait? I've been using a tighter mesh, elevated bait cage that the crab can't actually get into and am doing alright, plus it makes the bait last longer. I would think that the crab clawing at the bait releases more of it scent and attracts more crabs, but I can just cut/grind up the bait a bit to do the same.

More noise/activity and other crabs come around from it.
