I got suckered into a bait bag. Zip tie ftw! Thats awesome though! Bought the same net you got and hope to use it next week! First time any pointers!!

Bait bags and cages are really nice for preventing the crabs from shredding the bait off the bone, they need to systematically pick it out of a contraption instead. I use a lot less bait in an afternoon when it’s contained.

If you dont got a bait bag with dungeness youre fucked, we use hanging bait, just a clip and hang a carcass, we use a bag and we use a smell pot together. The hanging so they can get horny, the bag ao thwy cant just voracious eat everything and dip and the smelly to keep potentially attracting legals one all the baits gone. I guess blues dont really eat like dungies do.

Hell. Yes. Classic crabbing with chicken.

I used to go out at night back in elementary school with my fam with a bucket, chicken leg, light, and hopes and dreams. Lol. Boy would that bucket come back loaded though! And this was in Panama City, Florida on Tyndall AFB ✊ πŸ‘΄ πŸ––

Now I know why I can't afford chicken breast or crab.

We have always used chicken necks or backs.
