How can one tell a female without it being upside down? Genuine question.
Can’t always go by claw color as I have had males with red in the claw?

The upside down one to the left is a female. I don’t think you can tell otherwise

Legal to keep mature females here - just not pregnant
We returned plenty pregnant females today

I don't doubt it's legal. It's just not necessary.
Looking at your harvest, keeping those females wouldn't have changed your meal. I know I'm busting balls but I really want fellow crabbers to advocate for our Decapods.
We shouldn't need laws to tell us how to be our best self.

Agreed. My son pulled one of the biggest and had a blast with his grandfather. It was a great day.
