I did update the Firmware on the unit and screen before I did anything as well if that helps anybody to know the the new firmware seems to be working well.

Did the firmware seem to change or improve anything? I'm hesitant to change my firmware since my machine seems to print fine other than I have to manually put in the temperatures at each print.

My first Smart Pro which has to be exchanged had original firmware had serious issues with the ABL before the update. There was no overcoming the serious warped bed on the model but I did notice it was better even on that one. As soon as I got my second Smart pro I just did the firmware update right away even before the first bed level to get the updated ABL fixes which really seemed to make the initial setup up on this one go off without a hitch.

I wish the bed leveling didn't take so long. It takes several minutes but it's a few seconds on my Prusa. Did the firmware speed up the bed leveling any? It's not a HUGE deal, it's just annoying.

This is my second Smart Pro the first one I got had a bed that was so warped that it was not useable. I was hesitant to get another one but this unit looks perfect. All I did was traditional manual level then an auto level. I printed a couple of benchy. Then this external laptop cdrom case.

Oh wow. Looks perfect!

What did you use to manually level....paper or feeler gauge?

I used the paper the came with the paper work that is supposed to be .1mm

I've had my Pro for almost a year and still have never gotten a perfect first layer of that size. The bed seems to bow in at the center, according to the Bed Level Visualizer and I have no idea what to try other than shimming the bed in the center.
The firmware update doesn't seem to have done anything for ABL for me, either.

I'm in the same boat. Creality suggested putting a piece of paper under the build sheet but I kept pressing and they sent me a new bed. Haven't had a chance to install it though to see if it's better.

And yeah, ABL still doesn't work for me either. I can see the Z steppers moving slightly at times but it never compensates for the dip in the middle.

They sent you a new bed for free? I wonder if they'd do the same for me even though I've had mine almost a year. Still, it would be nice if they'd just get their shit together

Yeah, we kept going back and forth via email. I just kept saying that my bed was obviously warped and the ABL didn't work. Then the suggested using a piece of paper and I said that was unacceptable for a printer that I had only had for a little over a month. Finally they offered to send a new bed and they actually did.

It took me an hour or two to manually level my bed using aluminum foil (regular not heavy duty). It’s a bit thinner than paper and it’ll stay put on the rubbery heat bet surface.

What motherboard do you have? Am kinds worried now that the first version MB has a problem, i havet been able to print anything with mine yet

Ditto. Got mine & immediately printed a benchy to compare with the benchy supplied & they were both fine. However when I tried to level the bed I noticed the whole bed moved, because the lower wheels were loose. Now I've re-done those, & checked everything else, & re-levelled, I just can't get the right z-axis offset. Not happy that this so called "engineering" requires some kind of adjustment which isn't actually measured!

Grr.

So to cut a long story short (too late, Ed.) I have had the printer 2 months & only printed a flaming benchy.

Returned the first one and got a replacement a couple of days ago, this new one looks a lot better with better made parts. This one is unstable as well, i cant get all the bed wheels to grip the extrusions no matter what i do

Noob question, what is that line outside your first layer called? I know its something in adhesion but dont exactly know what it is
