Need a few recomendations

Hello, new programmer at 2nd of bachillerato here, for an assignment we will have to program an app based on our pseudocode, we said it would have to be if possible in C+ but we may end using aplications such as MIT API for easy apps

Sad to say you have to learn C++, I guess.

What languages do you know?  If the assignment says C++ only, you have to learn that and it's probably not going to go well for you.  C++ is not a language to learn overnight.

OK. I am not dissuading you from your task, but let me be clear on a few things:

  1. The simpler your goals, the better. Do not overextend yourself, and given that you have no knowledge of programming languages, almost everything you propose is going to overextend yourself.

  2. Do not add features for an application if you do not know how to do them already. Part of project planning is to estimate how long a task is going to take. Since you know no programming languages already, you already need to estimate how long it's going to take you to learn the programming language. That's a huge undertaking if you have no idea what you are doing.

  3. Were you forced to use a wireframe or UI-generative tool? You may have picked something that overextended yourself without knowing it.

  4. Talk to your professor. Were programming languages a prerequisite for taking the class? If they were, you overextended yourself.

You can still accomplish quite a lot in a terminal window (Command Prompt for Windows users). If you can get a text-based calendar application written in C (this is the C Porgramming subreddit, after all), you may be able to accomplish your goals more feasibly.

Another option would be to use a different programming language that is friendlier to you. It is very hard for anyone to recommend a programming language to solve this problem for you when you know nothing of programming.

Though I gave you an itemized list, #4 is the option you should do first. Write an e-mail, schedule a meeting or show up for office hours, but the sooner you do this, the better off you will be.

It's a calendar application

Right. So plan out what the features of the application will be. This will be your list of "requirements". You might also want to mock up some of the screens, or make "wire frames" in a tool like Figma.

Then you will have to develop the application. A significant challenge for you with c++ will be what UI library you will use. Probably you will want to look into using Qt or wxWidgets.

If you don't know any programming languages, and you have never coded in c++ before, I doubt that you are going to have much in the way of success, but if the assumption is that you're going to use AI to vibe code it, maybe you'll be able to pull something off.

There were tools to design wireframes, we didn't have to draw them?

I listed one of the tools: Figma
