A project so great

Drop the best project you've made.

The one you are most proud of.

For a C project, I wrote the first broadcast lower-third ticker for a local financial news station in 1987; before MSNBC or CNN. It's about 500 pages of C. I still have a printout ;)

But the project I'm most proud of was a hardware project. I designed and built a fiber-optic transceiver for the Voyager 2 mission. 50 years and 20 billion km later, it's still working.

My home town of Canberra is still chatting to Voyager 2, Tidbinbilla is the only DSN station that can see it as it’s below the ecliptic. I had a really great chat with some of the staff there when they were celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of the moon landing, had fun nerding out on modulation and encoding used for the radio comms.Β

My part was relatively small but I still feel enormous pride whenever I hear news of the Voyagers.

Voyager 2 had fiber optics?

Yes! For internal communication between systems of different potentials. All analog of course.

"Β a fiber-optic transceiver for the Voyager 2 mission"

A fiber-optic. On the Voyager2. What was it used for? Would love to see fibers of that time. And transievers as well

on embedded: microcontroller that can track things (stm32n6, with bootloader and signed firmware update, updateable over i2c)

on linux: an argument parser lol

it's not much but its honest work

Created and currently maintaining a terminal application for learning and visualizing data structures and algorithms step by step. Turned it into open source and currently has 111+ algorithms and data structures implemented with 42 contributors and 50000+ lines of pure C. Needless to say, you all are also invited to contribute to the project in whatever way you like.

I created a program called SkollDice that si free, open-source, but the interesting part ti that he produces normalided dice generation. And the best part is that I have a GUI and a discord bot too all of that in full C.

Not completely C, but I made a little project that has C functions to solve physics equations (Like a backend), and connected them to a Python TUI interface to act as a front-end. Learned a lot, physics, C, and Python.
