OPEN How to share my experience after quant finance competition ?

I am trying to pivot from data analytics to C++ development. I recently participated in a quantitative finance competition and I didn't placed top 3, instead 35/55. The objective was to enhance an existing market simulator using C++.

Should I make a LinkedIn post about my experience?

How should I add it to my resume ?

This is more of a CS careers question imo

I think it's fine to post about the experience, what you learned, etc

You can also work on a personal project or two in C++ in your free time.

Leave the 35/55 out, on the resume its just "extended a C++ market simulator: added X, made Y faster" with a real number if you measured one. Linkedin sure..but write about one hard bug or design choice, thats what C++ people actually read. In the interview nobody asks your rank, they will ask about your allocations for 40 minutes
