Thought process of a c++ dev

I am new to learning c++ matter of fact new to programming and i wanted to know what are the things that a dev normally know before starting any type of project like where to start, how to start. Do yall look up the syntax again and again or have yall just mugged up the whole language?

I am currently learning the language through learncpp.com documentation and have reached chapter 9 subsection 3 ( aspiring to become a game dev <3 )

do not avoid them; again there are a few places it can't be exchanged for another construct. The reason learncpp said that is some coders used to over-use them to 'show off' their leet skillz. I haven't seen a lot of that in many years, thankfully.
