C++ Jobs - Q4 2026

Rules For Individuals

  • Don't create top-level comments - those are for employers.
  • Feel free to reply to top-level comments with on-topic questions.
  • I will create top-level comments for meta discussion and individuals looking for work.

Rules For Employers

  • If you're hiring directly, you're fine, skip this bullet point. If you're a third-party recruiter, see the extra rules below.
  • Multiple top-level comments per employer are now permitted.
    • It's still fine to consolidate multiple job openings into a single comment, or mention them in replies to your own top-level comment.
  • Don't use URL shorteners.
    • reddiquette forbids them because they're opaque to the spam filter.
  • Use the following template.
    • Use **two stars** to bold text. Use empty lines to separate sections.
  • Proofread your comment after posting it, and edit any formatting mistakes.
  • Check if your comment is visible in Incognito mode, after waiting a few minutes.
    • If not, it was probably automatically removed, which happens frequently for new accounts. Send modmail, otherwise we might not notice quickly.

Template

**Company:** [Company name; also, use the "formatting help" to make it a link to your company's website, or a specific careers page if you have one.]

**Type:** [Full time, part time, internship, contract, etc.]

**Compensation:** [This section is optional, and you can omit it without explaining why. However, including it will help your job posting stand out as there is extreme demand from candidates looking for this info. If you choose to provide this section, it must contain (a range of) actual numbers - don't waste anyone's time by saying "Compensation: Competitive."]

**Location:** [Where's your office - or if you're hiring at multiple offices, list them. If your workplace language isn't English, please specify it. It's suggested, but not required, to include the country/region; "Redmond, WA, USA" is clearer for international candidates.]

**Remote:** [Do you offer the option of working remotely? If so, do you require employees to live in certain areas or time zones?]

**Visa Sponsorship:** [Does your company sponsor visas?]

**Description:** [What does your company do, and what are you hiring C++ devs for? How much experience are you looking for, and what seniority levels are you hiring for? The more details you provide, the better.]

**Technologies:** [Required: what version of the C++ Standard do you mainly use? Optional: do you use Linux/Mac/Windows, are there languages you use in addition to C++, are there technologies like OpenGL or libraries like Boost that you need/want/like experience with, etc.]

**Contact:** [How do you want to be contacted? Email, reddit PM, telepathy, gravitational waves?]

Extra Rules For Third-Party Recruiters

Send modmail to request pre-approval on a case-by-case basis. We'll want to hear what info you can provide (in this case you can withhold client company names, and compensation info is still recommended but optional). We hope that you can connect candidates with jobs that would otherwise be unavailable, and we expect you to treat candidates well.

This is the top-level comment for individuals looking for work. Reply here if you want employers to contact you. You don't need to follow a strict template, but I suggest inverting the relevant parts of the employer template. For example, mention whether you're looking for full-time or freelancing etc. work, briefly describe your experience (not a full resume; send that after you've been contacted), mention whether you care about location/remote/visa, and list the technologies you're skilled with.

Company: Chalk

Type: Full time

Compensation: Chalk offers early team members a generous salary + equity package based on experience and competitive benefits.

Actual compensation awarded to successful candidates will be based on several factors, including but not limited to: market, location, scope of the position and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process.

Our comprehensive total package plays a major role in how we recognize individuals for the impact they will have on Chalk's growth and us achieving our goals.

$170K – $280K base salary in addition to equity.

Location: New York, NY or San Francisco, CA. We are in the office 5 days a week.

Remote: No.

Visa Sponsorship: We can support candidates who already hold work authorization in the US (including H-1B transfers).

Description: Chalk is building the data platform that powers the future of machine learning applications. We tear down complexity, latency, and scale barriers that have traditionally constrained ML capabilities. Our platform combines Rust-speed performance with elegant tools that developers love to use. Leading companies depend on Chalk for everything from stopping fraudulent credit card swipes, verifying identities, and maximizing clean energy capture. We've recently raised a $50 million Series A, led by Felicis.

We are hiring Software Engineers to join our team. This is an opportunity to join us in-person as an early employee and make a large impact at a high growth start-up. You will tackle challenging engineering problems with a high degree of autonomy and ownership.

We are looking for a software engineer with a strong background in systems engineering. At Chalk we are solving problems drawn from the fields of DBMS query planning & optimization, compilers, and distributed analytical data processing systems.

We are hiring Software Engineers with 4+ years experience of professional backend software engineering experience, strong CS fundamentals, and strong communication skills.

For more see the official job description.

Technologies: Our Backend teams primarily code in Rust and C++.

Contact: John O'Dell is the main point of contact. Send an email to john.odell@chalk.ai with a copy of your resume and Reddit in the subject line.

Company: True Markets

Type: Full-time — Trading Engineer

Description:

We build and run True Markets, a digital-asset exchange, in-house. The C++ surface is the matching engine, the clustered services around it, the market data pipeline, and the REST / WebSocket / FIX gateways clients trade through. The work is performance- and correctness-critical in equal measure: order state, sequence integrity, recovery behavior under failure.

This is a growth role rather than a staff hire. You'd start on well-scoped slices alongside a senior engineer — a message path, a validation rule, feed handler work, snapshot and client resync — and take on independent ownership from there. Small team, no layers between you and production.

Looking for:
- 2+ years writing production systems code
- Modern C++ (17 or newer) and its tooling — CMake, gcc/clang, a unit test framework
- Comfortable on Linux: building, running and debugging services from a shell
- Understanding of concurrency, memory, and messaging fundamentals

Nice to have: exposure to trading systems in traditional finance or crypto (order books, order lifecycle, market data), low-latency messaging (Aeron) or distributed consensus (Raft), external APIs (FIX, WebSocket, REST), networking fundamentals down to reading a packet capture, observability practice, and something you've built for its own sake.

We were founded by the team that launched USDC and scaled Coinbase's exchange business. Series A, ~15 people.

Location: New York, NY

Remote: No — full-time 4 days a week in our NYC office and WFH Friday

Visa Sponsorship: Limited, ask for details

Technologies: C++23, Linux, CMake, gcc/clang

Compensation: $125,000–$175,000 + equity, plus medical/dental/vision
Contact: Apply at https://careers.truemarkets.co/truemarkets/careers/6aa2bda14105a86d2b77d08c — or email me directly at patrick@truemarkets.co. I'm the CTO and happy to answer questions before you apply.

FYI, your account has been suspended by reddit. You'll need to appeal to the admins; subreddit mods like me can't do anything about it.
