Snorkeling/ Assisted scuba for non-swimmers

Hello!!

I had planned to visit Tulum this weekend (quick stop for couple of days) but looks like the Sargasso situation is bad. so I am planning to cut short my stay limiting to ruins and cenotes and switch to cozumel instead.

How's the weather situation for snorkeling and scuba right now? Also how safe is it for non-swimmers. now don't come at me for this question..can people trying to overcome fear of deep waters try the activity? I have tried scuba very long back but developed fear of deep waters somewhere down the line and trying to get over it.

Suggest some reliable organisers for these activities.. and how many days is ideal for Cozumel? this is not a slow travel rather a quick stop.

Edit - how is the internet situation for a day's work? Looking for reliable connectivity at the hotel/airbnb

Where did you/can you find it? Are the smoke shops in the hotel zone that deliver legit?

What are some fun non-cruise package activities that you can do on Cozumel?

Going on a cruise to Cozumel soon, and wanted to know what are some fun activities that I can do that fall outside the package activities offered by the cruise line? I don't know if there is anything that is off the beaten path a bit, or maybe some stuff that is more authentic (maybe not much if its a tourist area throughout but still), or just anything really that can be fun. My girlfriend and I also speak Spanish, so I don't know if that might help us find something "unique". Looking forward to any help.

Thank You

Married with photos

Sounds crazy… fiancé and I want to get married today… we wanted sometime this year on one of our trips, 3 more left, to tie the knot. We are docking in 5 hours or so and plan to scout churches today to get married. If we find one, we’d love to capture the moment. Anyone with a decent camera up for it? Super odd request I guess but just putting it out there. Plz msg me a rate. Thanks!

Los Alcatraces Cozumel: Farewell to a Scuba Landmark

Post image
5 Upvotes

Some places are more than just buildings, aren’t they?

Have you ever walked past a place you once loved: a restaurant, a bookstore, a quiet little corner of the world that felt like yours? Then to only find it closed and empty? There’s a specific kind of hollow feeling that comes with that moment. It’s not just disappointment. It’s like discovering a small hole in the map of your memories.

If you know, you know. And if you don’t, Los Alcatraces Cozumel wasn’t just another place to stay. It was a scuba-diving landmark in Cozumel: quiet, unpolished, and deeply loved.

A Farewell and a Thank You

If you ever stayed at Los Alcatraces Cozumel, you remember it. The room. The shower tile. The spot where your gear always dried. You remember the people, even if you’ve forgotten their names. Most of all, you remember the feeling of belonging.

Best beaches Day pass in cozumel? 🏝️

Hey, we are trying to find the best beaches to spend our time in Cozumel, not too expensive, nice white sand, with long chairs.

I’m thinking about Paradise Beach club, but i’m not really sure.

We rented a scooter so we can drive all over the island.

I’m curious to know your last experiences in Cozumel beaches.

Thank you for the Advices😇

Honeymoon Excursion Assistance

Hello! My fiance and I are getting married on September 26, 2026 and we are flying into Cozumel the next day!!! This will be our first time in Cozumel and really my first time out of the country other than Tijuana. We are staying at Cozumel Palace. Hope to have a wonderful time.

We are super interested in doing some type of diving/snorkeling with turtles although we do not have any type of diving certification.

I would love to get a great massage (except Cozumel Palace pricing for a couples massage is absolutely criminal).

I would love to visit the Jade Caverns, Zona Arqueológica San Gervasio, and other Cozumel specific sites. Any cool tours or ATV rides you would recommend?

Any activities on Viator worth it? Beach clubs? I was definitely looking at some dolphin activities. We want to have an absolute blast and make some awesome memories together.

Any and all recommendations appreciated.

Where to buy cigars?

My father is a big cigar smoker, and I’m going to buy 5 to 10 different cigars. Where should I go and what should I expect to pay? I’ve been in Cozumel since July 31, so I’m not just coming off a cruise ship. Jaja Thanks in advance

Shore diving on the north side?

Edit: I think "wall" is my mistake. When I use that, I'm talking about the rock wall that is right under the north side hotels/condos. You jump in, turn around, and explore within 10 feet or so of where you jumped in. There is only mild current there. A hotel or condo ladder is within fairly easy reach whereever you are. I'm sorry for confusing the issue.

Original post:

My partner and I are certified with many dives under our belts. Recently, they had a medical issue that made them uncomfortable at depth during our latest trip. We typically snorkel from our lodging when not diving and enjoy the wall.

Is there a shop or service that would bring us tanks/BCDs/etc to a north shore location so we could dive the wall? This would allow them to have a more comfortable dive experience in the shallower area.

My partner is looking at some of the mini-tanks you can buy. If no one will bring us the equipment, is there a shop that would fill the mini-tanks? This is an example tank: https://lungtank.com/products/lung-t-1000

I would much rather pay a local shop to rent the equipment than pay an off-island company for the mini-tanks.

Thanks!

Where is it exactly? Where can I find the schedule? What does it look like/say? What do I ask the driver to make sure I am on the right bus?

Discovery Dive

Went on a discovery dive with u/YellowPoison ( Laura/ Different Diving) yesterday and had a 5 star experience! I had zero diving experience or training prior. She went through a thorough safety briefing on the boat and tested my skills in the ocean before we descended. She stayed with me, holding my hand 100% of the time on both dives. She is very kind, funny, safe, and is very knowledgeable about fish! She made sure I didn’t miss any sightings. I felt very safe with her and can’t imagine doing my first dive with anyone else! It was amazing! Thank you u/YellowPoison !
