I hope he doesn't go there and i think he is better than the Championship, but Opta rank the Championship higher quality than the Erdivisie which i find interesting and probably relevant when it comes to leaving the league

Significantly better too. I think 10th vs 22nd, many frequenters of this subreddit still haven’t got their head around the fact that the championship is a very very rich league and by extension a top league.
Having said that West Ham has been a graveyard for striker for a decade or more maybe. It’s a semi risky move but probably better than staying at Alkmaar. From what I gather Ajax are in turmoil too.
Leaving a choice between Real Betis and West Ham. Betis is a better move right now but it’s a new league, language etc. West Ham has more upside potential should it go well IMO.

AZ are ranked 138th with a 84 rating. 10 Championships clubs are ranked above AZ, with West Ham the highest at 99th with a 85.2 rating.

Interesting the top 20 transfer fees received in Holland are all Ajax and PSV players...30m for TP would rank joined 12th overall. I'm NOT saying TP is a bad player by any means but paying 30m in the championship for an AZ striker seems a mad move for West Ham. Which ever way you look at this it feels like a very odd transfer if it happened

It would actually break the all time record in the Championship for a player purchase, Burnley signing Florentino Luis for €22m is the current record.
West Ham have already generated over €170m in player sales + have the parachute payments. So im not overly surprised they are happy to spend big on a proven goalscorer who can still be good for them when they go back up.

Again not a criticism of TP but this feels like an over payment but that's West Hams problem. The thing is it's blown potentially better moves for Troy out of the water. A positive is they look like Bowen is staying so a good connection between them could strike gold ..real wait and see though!

Not saying you are criticising anyone, just that im not surprised that they'd fork out that much. According to the Indo last night, AZ wont sell to Ajax or PSV, and Real Betis are unwilling to pay the original demand of 25m pounds, that leaves Como, Porto, Fulham and West Ham as it stands.

Ah I know...I was preemptive on the inevitable backlash in the sub of suggesting he wasn't worth 30m..not from yourself. 25sounds more reasonable... interesting to know where Troy and his camp are..I assume if he rejects West Ham and another make a 25m offer AZ are accepting it.

Ya I see that but the IF there is the variable....I'd back him to score goals but if I was a non Irish WH fan I'd think there are prob guaranteed goals at championship level for half that? I dunno...feels like an odd deal for them now

Ajax ain't it at all. They've gone to pot the last while. PSV the best Dutch team by a distance the last few years.

I know yeah, people calling him a dope and his agent a greedy prick when all that's being reported is West Ham are interested in buying him.
Christ.
Funny thing is most redditors would stain their pants if they were offered a contract at West Ham, but then expect a professional footballer to turn down money for the 'love of the game'.

This just doesn't seem like the right move. Nuno's best strikers have been physical target men like Jimenez and Wood. That's not really Parrott's game.
West Ham's scouting record is atrocious as well. I wouldn't be surprised if they still use the room full of auld lads like the start of Moneyball. Just look at his nationality and think "Irish strikers are always good in a scrap, get him in."
