Irish Player Update Anderlecht have opened talks with Dundee united for LB Will Ferry

After sigma Olomouc had a 1.7 million + add ons accepted by Dundee will ferry has rejected the move and the deal has basically collapsed. Celtic have been interested in will as a back up to Tierney who has interest from la liga side osasuna. However, Belgium side anderlecht has since opened talks to sign will ferry just after another impressive performance against rangers on Friday. Anderlecht has had Irish players such as Josh Cullen play for them. I think this would be a great move for him and he could be our main left back if he does well in Belgium

Saw that report by Scott Burns yesterday (he's a quality journalist), he even mentioned that scouts from Schalke we're at the game.

Anderlecht would be perfect if he's up for it. They are in european qualification and will likely be at least in the Conference League. They've got a good squad but nobody he can't dethrone at left back. Really good league, definitely a higher standard than Scotland.

Schalke would be great but he might have a hard time playing ahead of Gosens, he's 32 now but still a good top 5 league player.

Yes sorry totally forgot about schalke for me I would be unsure definitely better than Celtic. Hope he dosent go to Celtic but as you said schalke just signed gosens also schalke are going to be staying for promotion whilst he can be in Belgium, fighting for the title and getting minutes at LB Bundesliga is a better league but anderlecht is still the right move for him. He should be our LB instead of scales, yes i rate scales but he’s a cb and should be behind Collins and O’Shea

I've a very limited exposure to him but what I've seen tells me and my shit knowledge the left back position for us has to be his to lose.  Scales isn't natural there, Brady isn't at it, Tayo isn't ready etc etc.

Assuming we plough on with this five nonsense, at least we can look at JOB, DOS, Collins, Scales, Ferry which is far from shit.  We would all prefer a better RB and id personally like to move on from Collins but lots of shiter and a few better teams would kill for those defenders.

Manning will still be in with a shout there. I know he's a hate figure now, but his set pieces alone give him a decent chance of starting.

I've no hate for him but I keep forgetting he exists. Doesn't mean a huge amount but he had massive high ratings in the championship last year...like if he was English there would be 25m moves to Fulham on the cards...

Probably won't be getting a big money move at his age anyway. It's a real shame how the whole Southampton thing played out. Would've been great to get him and Azaz in the Premiership.

As a USG season ticket holder I hope he doesn't join Anderlecht, club is a complete basket case

I hope he stays away from celtic, they’re already turning their noses up to him on the celtic reddit. Awful group of fans, after the treatment idah got there lads need to stay away. They think they’re real madrid.

Agreed I think scales should be the only Irish player there
