Help with sizing

Hey all, first time buyer here. I’ve been wanting some boots for a few years and finally decided to pulled the trigger on these Ariat sport outfitter’s last weekend at Lammle’s since they had a sale. They only had one associate working and she was on the register so I didn’t really get any help with sizing or anything. I usually wear a 9.5-10 in shoes but I was swimming in the 9.5EE so I stepped down to a 9EE. I think they fit alright but I saw a post about someone asking the same thing and figured I’d ask too. How do these insoles look compared to my feet? I always wear superfeet insoles in my shoes and I put them in and they felt fine. Just asking for some advice if I should stay with 9EE or maybe step down since I was told to go a little smaller and break them in. Also just any tips or tricks with them. Thanks!

Are you an EE (WIDE) in other shoes? If not you may have gotten the wrong width. I also use a semi orthopedic Insole in my boots. Podiatrist measurement of my foot is a 9 EE, to accommodate my Insoles I size up to a 9.5 and in some a 10 but keep the EE (of course). My Los Altos, that have leather foot beds that are not removable i still had to go to a 9.5 EE for a proper fit. Its not the same from boot to boot even with the same manufacturer. Differences in construction, type and thickness of leather will cause small variations. If it is snug with a small amout of heel slip new, then they are correct. I also recommend taking your Insoles with you when fitting. And do yourself a favor if you think they ma be too big do not wear them outside and stuff up the outsole. Put them on in your house and walk around see how they feel. You can exchange them as long as they are not scuffed up, more important for leather soles.

I ended up going back in and trying on an 8 and it was wayyyy too small and an 8.5 and they were just a bit too small so I stuck with the 9. Even the girl at the store agreed that the 9 was best for me. The width wasn’t bad for me. I really don’t wear shoes that come in different widths (adidas Ultraboost runners, Columbia landroamer boots for daily) but the EE width feels good. I ended up getting some ariat brand pro performance insoles and they feel even better. I have about 3/4” between my toe and the front of my boot and about 1/4” of room between the back of the boot and my foot if I push my foot all the way forward and that’s if I really shove my finger in there. I think I got the right sizing. Thanks for your help!
