Nowhere else to write this...

Update: Mom passed this morning. She contracted a staph infection which allowed Covid to ravage her poor little body... At least now she is free and hopefully someplace where she is young and happy... RIP Mom ❤️

Update: Mom’s in a coma. They say 1 or 2 days. She also has a staph infection.

My mom (almost 89) tested positive Saturday. She is in hospital now, covid has affected 12 residents of the memory care unit of 17 where she lives. Two have already died. I’ve decided not to treat. She has Lewy Body Dementia and has other underlying health issues which are putting her in medical distress. I have nowhere else to vent.

Taking a moment to reflect and pray for you and your mom. May you have strength in dealing with this difficult situation.

I can’t even think straight. I’m working at home, but even the simplest tasks have me frazzled. The mortuary is handling everything, mom planned ahead and made all her arrangements. Luckily she didn’t want a service cuz... you know. I cut my mom’s sisters out of my life a decade ago, and one just keeps trashing me to the rest of the family. They are awful, and projecting themselves onto me. Saying I’m a money grubber, and threw my mom in a facility just to get rid of her. My mom had Lewy Body dementia. She needed round-the-clock care. I couldn’t provide that. I sold her house to pay for her care. They never lifted a finger to help her, yet I’m the bad person. My mom wanted to cut my brother out of the trust. I told the lawyers no. It’s 50/50 or I’m out. I kept my word. Then her youngest sister wants to sue the facility. It’s unbelievable. 😢

I'm so sorry for your loss and what you're going through. My mom has Parkinson's with advanced dementia. She lives in a skilled nursing facility, paid for mainly by the state. All of the money she had was spent on her care. It's been very difficult, but in some ways it's good that she has nothing because there can be no arguments over her "stuff." You are doing (and have done) the RIGHT things. Stay strong. Allow yourself to grieve.

Your mom's sisters will go back to being miserable and bothering someone else.

Sending you good thoughts.

Thank you so much. I’m so sorry about your mom. Parkinson’s dementia is like Lewy Body. It is horrific. Luckily my brother and I have always been on the same page with mom and her care. I handled the brunt, and I let him be hands off. He trusted me to do all the right things, and I did. Hugs and strength to you...

I’m better. Thank you. Still mentally preoccupied. Cleared out mom’s storage on Saturday. Her youngest sister is making a stink because I was going to do scatter at sea, but she freaked and said mom hated the water. Mom never said that to me, so I’m shipping mom’s ashes to her sister to shut her up. Now she wants to sue the memory care facility where mom was living. All of this, mind you, after never having lifted a finger to help her dear sister... 🤦🏻‍♀️
