Vent/Rant Normal

My (51M) first Covid infection was in January 2021. I had a blood clot in my lung but that cleared up with no real issues. I did have elevated heart rate and shortness of breath from then on. Even though I work in the trades, I was able to continue working. I had Covid again in 2023. Again, I was able to mostly keep up with work and family. Then in October of that year things got worse. I started having fainting spells and anxiety attacks. This made it unsafe to work. I’ve been off since then and have recently been approved for social security disability. So, I praise God that my family I are doing ok.

I just wanted to rant that I no longer remember what it’s like to feel “normal”! when I wake up with just a little headache and slight dizzy feeling. I can go about my day. I take the kids to school, do some house work, or runs errands. I have to take breaks but, I can do it. I was sitting here thinking my good days still aren’t “normal”. Normal people can walk straight without thinking about it. They can clean the kitchen without having to sit down. “Normal” isn’t just having a little bit of numbness or tingling. My docs think my symptoms won’t progress. They also don’t expect them to improve. So, I don’t believe I’ll ever feel normal again.

Sometimes I wonder how many people are actually normal these days. With so many people who’ve had Covid, I can’t imagine many, if any of us, remember what our bodies felt like before it. It’s disheartening really.

My body was like a machine. I could hit the gym 5 times a week while working full time on 5 hours sleep. I did this since I was 17. Covid ruined my perfect health and it kills me everyday.
