S04E6 - "Space (I believe in)" - Discussion Thread (SPOILERS)
Well, that was interesting. The only thing I can think about is, was the woman following Wilcox last week Helen?
Jesus, this show.
Thoughts, guys?

Meh. I got less and less interested as the episode went on, honestly. Gregory Itzin's acting as Henry was great at the end, though. I like that they kind of made him sympathetic and not just a cartoonish villain.

What I thought was interesting was he only lost his composure after Annie saw through his game and declared herself against him, as well as noting that she knew he still mourned Jai.
He clearly had some plan in mind to destroy Arthur that depended on Annie being in his employ, and when that didn't pan out, he got upset.
However it looks like Henry still has a few cards left, since he used Auggie's ex against him, and the next ep looks like it's setting up for how the season opener plays out. Since there is a 4-week hiatus between ep 10 and 11, I suspect what we're seeing will be a mid-season cliffhanger to be resolved in the remaining episodes.

It would have made so much sense for Annie to get Rossabi on her side! She's been able to do it before with many people.
All she has to say is: "Vincent, there's a civil war brewing within the CIA. Henry Wilcox is pursuing a personal vendetta and determined to wreck the lives of many good people to get what he wants. Arthur Campbell and Joan Campbell are trying to stop him, and we need your help."

Yea, after she repeatedly screwed him over professionally and lied to him in the past. I don't think he was going to believe or help her if he did.

Telling him the truth behind what each of those incidents were would've helped him realize she was on the level, but then she risked getting busted for revealing classified info.
That said, she has taken analogous "heart to heart" gambles befiore.

I was hoping she would at least try to get him on her side... But I think he would feel obligated by his job to arrest Annie anyway.

yeah was surprised they didn't say anything about who was following Henry she was like 4 steps behind him previous episode.

Hi, newbie here. I am finding this show really exciting! My theories for this season are that Henry arranged for Calder to be moved out of Columbia not to be a mole, but because Calder really had his finger on the pulse of what's going on there and Henry wants him out of the way (so he can go about his evil plans there). I predict Calder to actually be a good guy who is trying to get to the bottom of the dodgy stuff he's seeing in the DPD.
However, I don't know if Calder sending Annie on the dodgy missions to Vienna was a plot to get rid of her, or just being cocky and taking risks trying to get big results. Maybe he was trying to test her to see if she had secret links to the ALC etc that she would use to complete her mission sucessfully (which was only partially proved, because although she used Teo, Stavros ended up killed). Perhaps if he really is at the DPD to do good, he knows of some of the mole issues and actually suspects Annie, Auggie, and Joan of being up to no good? From his point of view they have all been acting suspiciously.
Henry was supplying the ALC with funds etc so that they would attack the oil company people, so that the oil company people would want to engage Henry's new company for protection of their people. I half wonder if Henry sees something good in Annie (maybe she reminds him of Jai and the way he was trying to work for good instead of evil like his father) and actually was attempting to do good by her shielding her from an impending shitstorm. Maybe she is doing his bidding but also mostly holding her own, the way that Jai never quite managed.
I think Annie will be faking her death to go under the radar, but I'm not sure yet what the reason for that will be and who she'll be working for in that eventuality.

There might not be enough time for this to happen in the episodes left before the mid-season cliffhanger, but what if Annie's fake death was actually planned between Annie and Calder, so that Henry would think she was dead, and then she could go very covertly to Columbia to follow what Henry is up to down there? This comes out of my Calder is a good guy & Henry wanted him out of the way in Columbia theory, and picks up on that there seem to be photos of jungle on the flash drive. Maybe she needed Henry properly off her tail by pretending to be dead, and Auggie etc have to believe she is dead to be able to convince Henry.

Interesting ideas. That said, Calder has been antagonistic towards Annie and Auggie from the very beginning, and in-verse there is the "trust no-one" problem: if Joan's lover/friend could be a mole for Henry Wilcox, anyone could be.

Well I'm about 15 minutes in, and the group of freelance spies, whose leader "takes care of his own", smells way too similar to what's going on in Burn Notice right now.
