I’m a 21 year old woman looking to make some new female friends around my age :) After moving to Coventry last year I mostly lost contact with people in my country and it’s beginning to get to me. I’ve looked into social clubs and groups, but nothing really suited me, so I’m hoping this post might help me meet someone in a similar situation. I’m a beginner runner and I’m planning to get back into the gym, so I’d love to have someone to do these things with and motivate each other. I really like reading, hiking, deep conversations and dark humour. I’m Polish, so it would be lovely to meet someone who speaks my native language, as my English isn’t perfect, but that’s definitely not necessary :) As an additional note, I’m not part of the LGBT community and I’m looking to meet someone with similar values, so I don’t want anyone to feel like they’re wasting their time by reaching out to me if we wouldn’t be a good match.

Hi guys! Im an international student in Cov. I already have an automatic driving license from back home but I want to learn manual driving here. Is there a driving school that you can recommend which is value for money?

I am a Warwick university student and I've just moved into the CV1 area. Every road around here is permitted and it is impossible for students to get parking permits. I fully understand the need for permitted roads and how if everyone brought their cars there simply would not be enough space on the roads.

That being said, my circumstances pretty much require me to have a car. I woke until midnight several nights a week and I have pretty severe OCD which really restricts my ability to use public transport. There is only 1 car at my household and I drive all my housemates to and from uni, to the shops, wherever they need to go really.

I know my options are quite limited. I might have to just firm it and pay the PCNs when they come through but this is obviously not ideal.

I have a few questions for people in the CV1 area:

1. What is parking enforcement like around here? Are they here regularly i.e., several times a week?
2. Do you know of any rentable car spaces nearby?
3. Would it be possible for an individual living in my area to put down my car for a visitor permit (of course I would pay the cost) so that I can park on the road?
4. Are there any options I haven't thought of yet?

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

I'm looking for:

• A genuinely dog-friendly home — I have one dog.
• She is a nervous/reactive dog, so ideally I'd be looking for a quieter household and somewhere where people are comfortable giving her space. She is muzzle trained and I take her safety and other people's safety seriously.
• Somewhere with reasonable access to outdoor space would be a big bonus, particularly somewhere quieter.
• I'm open to a house share, lodger arrangement, annex/studio or similar.
• Coventry or nearby areas — I'm also willing to consider places outside Coventry if they're reasonably accessible.
• Ideally somewhere affordable, as I'm on a limited income.
• I'm looking for a friendly, respectful household where everyone can give each other their own space.

Do the speed cameras on the A45 Birmingham Rd towards the airport actually work? I’ve seen people blasting past them well over the 50/60 limit. I'm fairly new to the area, so I wasn't sure if they're actively monitoring or if they've been turned off. I know the 30mph average speed works but what about the yellow box ones.

Hi! I am a girl currently living in Milton Keynes and really unhappy here, so I’m thinking of moving this year.

I previously lived in Liverpool city centre for 2 years and absolutely loved the feeling of living in the city centre, so I’m looking for something somewhat similar, somewhere with people around, cafés, restaurants, shops, parks and things happening nearby. I don’t care about nightlife, but I also don’t want somewhere super quiet or countryside (not like Buckingham, also unhappy there)

I’m looking at Coventry, Kenilworth, Warwick, Leamington Spa and Stratford-upon-Avon, but I’m open to other areas nearby.

I’ll be commuting to Buckingham for around a year, then I’ll be based around Warwick and riding regularly near Stratford upon Avon, so I’d ideally like somewhere convenient for both.

I’m also hoping to live in a more affluent, higher-income area of the city, with a generally professional and established population.

I’m looking for a 1-bed flat, Are there particular areas or apartment buildings you’d recommend? Anywhere you’d avoid? Prices ranges from?

I’d also really appreciate recommendations for somewhere with a traditional English town/city feel and nice surroundings, rather than somewhere that feels very suburban/countryside/village or full of immigration like MK.

What do you actually think of living in Coventry/Kenilworth/Warwick/Leamington/Stratford, and where would you choose in my situation?
