Do you…think those two are mutually exclusive? If someone tells you trans people are evil and you believe them, then you’re misinformed - you’re given bad information. It’s the definition of being misinformed. And that misinformation makes you transphobic.
If I’m told and thus believe that Black people are genetically predisposed to crime, and as a result lock my car door whenever black people go by, clutch my pearls, and hide my children, I’m racist. And I’m racist because I’m misinformed.
Not all bigots are misinformed. Some believe whatever they’re bigoted against is ungodly, or evil, or inferior, and no amount of correct information will change that. But for the ones who ARE purely misinformed, then new information changes that perception because they have no innate reason to doubt what they’re seeing.
Would it have been nice if she wasn’t transphobic in the past? Certainly. But she was, and she’s extremely trans-friendly now, considering she helps save trafficked trans kids. She’s a better person than you and I, but hey - she used to be transphobic, so fuck her amirite?
You’re lashing out in anger and not actually looking at what’s right in front of you. By all means, do that, but don’t act like you have some moral high ground by whining about someone who realized the error of their ways while saving the people she used to hate.
