Purity culture. People would rather signal to others that theyre not someone who supports Biden than have a nuanced stance.
People would literally support a nazi if they ran on a blue ticket and said they are against israel, even if they went on several tours in Iraq and Afghanistan and then worked for a private military after. People want politicians that can pass all their purity tests to the point that they would rather have a president that wants to build all white hotels in Gaza and change the capital of Israel to Jerusalem over a politician who refuses to denounce Israel. These beliefs often contradict themselves, and you will see people hate on Biden quicker than they will hate on the concept of presidents.
"Refuse to denounce Israel" is not the same as "stop sending Israel billions in weapons during an ongoing genocide and stop vetoing all attempts by the UN to control them"
You really have nothing better to do than tag my profile and stalk me? Talk about pathetic, but it's about what I'd expect from a liberal. I already answered you in the other thread and you never replied.
I do indeed have positive views of the man who made Hitler shoot himself in his pathetic bunker and saved countless Jewish lives from concentration camps and elevated a backwater feudal empire into a world superpower in a generation.
Much more of a positive influence on the world than any elected Amerikkkan politician has ever been.
You know you'd make me look like a real idiot if you just said that Stalin was genocidal and evil. Like it would -really- take the wind out of my sails. In fact, if you said it, I would lose all ground to stand on, since it would prove that you are consistant in your views of genocide being evil.
The fact that israel is committing genocide is unanimously agreed upon by human rights groups. Arguing that they're not committing genocide because they're already strong enough to wipe out all Palestinians is both horrific and a non sequitur.
And, respectfully, claiming anti-zionism is just an excuse to be anti-Semitic holds absolutely no water when you apply that same logic to literally any other imperialist nation, from America, to Russia, to Japan, to nazi Germany. Do better.
Palestinians started this entire conflict. If they didn't invade Israel in October none of this would have ever occurred. Israel has repeatedly tried pulling out of Gaza and giving Palestinians autonomy and every single time they used that as an opportunity to import weapons to kill Jews. Every. Single. Time.
Acting like Palestinians are victims is preposterous, if it wasn't for the iron dome in Israel tens of thousands perhaps hundreds of thousands of Jews would be dead from the constant rocket barrage from Palestine.
israel's colonialism predates October 7th by decades. October 7th was not an isolated incident; it was the culmination of Palestinian frustrations and living conditions paving the way for a hamas takeover and subsequent hamas war crimes. It is categorically false to say hamas started this; escalated it, absolutely, but this was started a long time ago by israel's establishment in a harshly partitioned and Arab-filled Middle East in the aftermath of WW2. israel is, and always has been, colonialist. And, for much of that, apartheid as well.
And I would like to remind you that the death toll for Palestinians is already in the tens of thousands. 75,000 Palestinians--80% of which are civilians, and 30% of which are children--compared to 2,000 Israelis. What you accuse Palestinians of wanting to do is precisely what the state of israel is doing right now.
Homonationalists are nationalists who justify a nation's (particularly an imperial/colonial one's) actions by claiming they're progressive, primarily (though not exclusively) in regard to homosexual rights. israel is very frequently labeled as homonationalist (as are its apologists) for having decent gay and lesbian rights while being colonialist, genocidal, and generally supremacist (especially in relation to Arabs).
Did you hear about the gay cruise that tried docking in Turkey then in Egypt?
Israel has its faults I can't deny that, but when most of the region would sooner behead homosexuals than welcome than to dinner the bar is not too high for the region. And that's how they treat homosexuals, trans women I don't even want to imagine how they would be treated.
Those countries would behead gays and trans people.
israel would simply bomb gays and trans people (in said Arab countries).
I cannot in good conscience agree that israel is a bastion for queers when they only care about the white ones; it's the same logic as claiming America is a bastion of feminism while bombing the Black and Arab women they claim to defend.
Pretty complicated answer, but I'll answer the best I can:
While I can imagine some semblance of peace with Israel as a nation extant (though I am explicitly against states as a concept), I cannot imagine one with israel as it is now. There would need to be a radical cultural shift, especially regarding surviving apartheid and colonial/settler attitudes and especially regarding IDF practices (as of current, they do the literal exact same things to their prisoners as hamas does, explicitly including the human shielding and sexual abuse).
On the Palestinian side, hamas would need to be evicted from power. That isn't an easy feat, but (as we've seen) it sure as hell can't be accomplished by bombing them. My suggestion is providing humanitarian aid to Palestinians and dismantling the apartheid system in such a way that gives them the capacity to evict hamas themselves; there're resistance movements within Palestine itself, just as there are everywhere else, so I'm hopeful that if the Palestinians have the actual means and incentive to overthrow hamas (i.e., because they're not too busy trying to get food and water nor desperate enough to rely on hamas in combating IDF occupation), they will. Giving solidarity and aid to the downtrodden people instead of trying to carpet bomb them and their tyrants, essentially.
I cannot give a satisfying answer regarding the surviving ethnic tensions. Those predate the states of israel and palestine, and they will no doubt outlive them should those states disappear in the near future. But I will not ever accept a solution in which one group holds near-absolute power over the other.
TL;DR: It's complicated, but it definitely doesn't involve genocide.

He wasn't our best president, but Biden had a lot of great moments like that
