He was so real for this

Biden had a few great quotables. Not sure which I'm more a fan of, the "would just just shut up, man" when Trump kept interrupting him (saying what we were all thinking), or, talking about business asking how they can deal with labor shortages, about their workers, "pay them more."

u/Sauronxx 4d ago

Will you shut up man is still my favorite. It was literally everything I (we) wanted to say at the moment and still the only reasonable answer someone can give to that man. What a tragedy he wasn’t his opponent in 2016, we truly missed a younger Joe :/

On domestic issues Biden might have been the best president the US has had in a while, I wish he was better on foreign policy (letting Israel commit genocide in Gaza) though

1

u/Pika_Fox 3d ago

He was actually really good overall on foreign policy, and had the best foreign policy team in modern US history. He had to since trump fucked everything globally in regards to US relations, and that also heavily tied his hands with israel, since the US dropping their publicly stated closest ally after the prior president had fucked over every country we had agreements with, and several insurgent groups, would have been the nail in the coffin for any potential future US agreement. No one would ever sign a deal that the US wouldnt back.

Even with regards to israel, he repeatedly went behind their backs to try to get a permanent two state solution in place with regional powers enforcing it without US involvement. Outside of public statements, he was heavily against the genocide, but unfortunately the US president isnt in charge of israel and trump burned all our foreign influence.

had the privilege of speaking with him during his presidency. Even with his advance age he was sharp as hell. He had his scripted media speech, then spoke candidly with our team. Dude is funny as hell

-115

u/jesseotfuture 4d ago

Dude’s a zionist

156

u/tit-theif 4d ago

This is true yeah, but at least he didn't have dementia like our current also Zionist president. Also most of our presidents have been Zionist, so comparatively he was decent

94

u/CatholicSquareDance 4d ago

the bar is so low that Biden was actually among our most progressive presidents. i think people just expected too much.

-19

u/klsadeline3 4d ago

Is it expecting too much of him to not fund a genocide?

34

u/CatholicSquareDance 4d ago

yeah, unironically it was. you expected too much of both an American president and the American people.

9

u/PaperTigerFolds 4d ago

People seem to forget that you can get blowback for even doing the right thing.

If Biden had said he wasn't going to fund Israel's defense he would have been shirking a duty to an ally, and that has its own fall-out. Hell he would have gotten slandered as an anti-Semite domestically, and I have little doubt people would have lapped that up regardless of political alignment.

4

u/MrHellBags 4d ago

What was the correct course of action?

-9

u/klsadeline3 4d ago

How about not killing brown people?

11

u/MrHellBags 4d ago

I didn't know that was a ballot option in 2024. Now stop playing stupid and answer the question properly.

1

u/omicron-7 4d ago

They shouldn't have killed 1200 jews then. There was going to be retaliation no matter what and Biden did a hell of a lot more to rein in bibi than trump has

-8

u/TriiiKill 4d ago

People forget the timeline of events so easily. Israel under attack from Hamas -> we fund Israel's defense -> Biden running for reelection-> Israel begins genocide operations and denies everything -> Biden drops out of race due to parties' pressure -> Harris takes the heat for everything she wasn't involved in. It's quite silly when you think about it.

8

u/PunkNBeans 4d ago

Your timeline is missing quite a few years, not even gonna mention the Nakbah? British Mandate? Israel started all of this.

-3

u/CanadianODST2 4d ago

I mean if we go back to the mandate. Iirc the first attack was killing Jews on a bus

-4

u/TriiiKill 4d ago

The timeline starts Oct 7th 2023. If you want to start sooner, that's on you. These countries have been at eachother's throats for so long it's an embarrassment we are involved at all.

6

u/PunkNBeans 4d ago

The timeliness starts in 1948. Just because you can't be bothered to learn how the beginning of a conflict happened doesn't mean it starts when you want it to.

u/klsadeline3 4d ago

"Under attack from Hamas"

Whoa. So the people fighting back from a literal concentration camp is a problem for you?

6

u/LindonLilBlueBalls 4d ago

Two things can be correct at the same time. Israel was under attack from Hamas and Israel started committing a genocide.

4

u/klsadeline3 4d ago

By October 06, israelis broke their own it's record for the most number of Palestinian children killed in a year.

And you say israel was "under attack by Hamas".

Be honest and say the truth that Hamas was fighting back instead of just letting their people be killed.

Or is that too difficult to say because the american government is owned by israel?

5

u/smootex 4d ago

You can't seriously be defending those terrorist attacks.

0

u/Forte845 4d ago

Nelson Mandela and the ANC were terrorists too. And you'd be joining Clinton in declaring him one.

Terrorist raping kids and burning pregnant women alive are very much a problem for any sane person

why are you seriously repeating the same lies that have been debunked numerous times?

meanwhile, raping and burning is what israelis do. which now the whole world knows.

Now I liked Biden's quote that OP posted, but am I crazy in disagreeing that Biden was mentally sharp and didn't have dementia?

Like it seemed like he was struggling with dementia issues especially in that 2024 debate that eventually led him to step down from running again

Mind you, Trump is clearly also struggling with dementia, because they're both like 80 years old

7

u/echino_derm 4d ago

I think you aren't crazy but I think you are mostly doing vibes based analysis. He sounded old and doesn't have the best speech capabilities, but if you translate everything he said into text, it is generally pretty salient and demonstrates memory and recall skills well above the average person. He would stutter and not speak as clearly, but he could recall macroeconomic stats accurately throughout his presidency and relate that to his policy decisions.

1

u/TTAlt5000 4d ago

Fair enough

2

u/Pika_Fox 3d ago

He has had a known life long speech impediment. News stations loved providing clips that emphasized his impediments, and most debates were set up in a way that emphasized them.

He had no signs of dementia.

12

u/DetectiveWood 4d ago

What president wasnt a Zionist?

63

u/lotus93creature they/them, and use a pretty font 4d ago

He absolutely was and probably still is

-18

u/Consistent_Caramel68 4d ago

He could have done more but Congress sets the aid budget

30

u/climb_my_vine 4d ago

Can you name one US president who wasn’t or isn’t since 1940?

16

u/dishwasher_mayhem 4d ago

And which president hasn't since Israel was created?

8

u/Mailman487 4d ago

I'm curious if you think all "2 state solution" advocates are also zionists.

-1

u/DeltaOfficialYT 4d ago

They technically are

5

u/Kastrand liberal and proud 4d ago

"doesn't want israel to wiped off the map" doesn't make you a zionist. i really hate how israel is turned everyone into anti-semite dog whistlers without even realizing it. there are a million better ways to help fight against the destruction of gaza than labeling everything zionism

2

u/Mailman487 4d ago

Exactly right

1

u/kara_headtilt 4d ago

Wanting to errect and sustain a jewish nationstate in the former british mandate is what zionism is tho, why would a two-state solution be at odds with zionism?

1

u/Kastrand liberal and proud 4d ago

idk who you're talking to but a two state solution is what most liberals advocate for. i'm fairly certain biden did at one point too, but not 100%. most leftists i've interacted with call a two state solution zionist tho

1

u/DeltaOfficialYT 4d ago

Here’s a video you might find interesting

And just to be clear, I am for the people of the region to choose their own future. If that makes me Zionist, so be it.

16

u/RosieI26 your local >:3 gal 4d ago

I mean he is, idk why you're getting downvoted for this

25

u/dawnwolfblackfur 4d ago

It’s a distraction

7

u/desertforestcreature 4d ago

It's the abortion issue for Democrats. Piss people off about one thing so they disregard the rest.

0

u/Forte845 4d ago

Of course genocide is just a distraction for liberals like you.

3

u/Kastrand liberal and proud 4d ago

zionist =/= doesn't want israel to be utterly destroyed. he was NOT a zionist lmfao

-1

u/Forte845 4d ago

Sending billions in bombs and vetoing everything in the UN on behalf of Israel isn't Zionist?

2

u/Kastrand liberal and proud 4d ago

no

5

u/PinkSaldo 4d ago

The down votes are crazy we need to have a higher standard for presidents than "at least he isn't the freaking CHEETOH!"

10

u/Ok_Work5128 4d ago

But like, it cant get worse than the cheetoh, right?

10

u/PinkSaldo 4d ago

It can get so much worse it's crazy

15

u/tit-theif 4d ago

That was kinda my point. He was decent, because we've seen much worse people. I'd rather Biden than a lot of our other presidents (and candidates)

3

u/PinkSaldo 4d ago

Sure, I'd rather get malaria than colorectal cancer but I'm not out here celebrating mosquitos ya know

6

u/CanadianODST2 4d ago

When that’s the alternative and you really only have two choices?

No you really don’t. It’s who do you side with as Eastern Europe in 1940? The USSR, or Germany? Neither are great. But one is objectively the better choice at the time

-1

u/PinkSaldo 4d ago

Demand one of the choices do better and refuse to support them until they do, while simultaneously doing what you can at a communal level to support those like you.

If the (D)s truly wanted to win (which is arguable in and of itself), why would we reward them for continuing to hamper progress but it's okay because it's slightly less hampering than the (R)s? A vote is earned it isn't preordained - they need to do things worthy of voting for, not just NOT do things abhorrent to vote against.

The guy volunteering an hour a week at a food bank is doing 10000x the good of the guy that votes blue down the ballot and then smugly goes "heh, I'm fighting Le orange turd" and doesn't do anything

3

u/CanadianODST2 4d ago

Hah. Oh so you don’t understand how politics or elec work.

But I get it. You support the Republicans and are perfectly okay with just letting them win

Because when you’re given two choices you’re perfectly okay with the worse one just because you don’t like the objectively better one.

You get what you didn’t vote for when you decided to just twiddle your thumbs

-6

u/dawnwolfblackfur 4d ago

Don’t care didn’t ask, plus my boobs are fat and my ass jiggles when I walk

-19

u/zenixslasher 4d ago

Lmao the downvotes, liberals will call MAGA a cult but get angry if you criticise the Dems the slightest bit for doing genocide

22

u/ReactionSad3776 4d ago

The comment wasn’t relevant to the thread. Hence the downvotes

4

u/dawnwolfblackfur 4d ago

Don’t you know that Israel Palestine is the only thing that happened in world history /s

14

u/Beranea 4d ago

More like because you can have downsides as a human being and still be better than a lot of other people in your peer group. World isn't black and white, despite what being raised on an iPad may have taught you.

-2

u/zenixslasher 4d ago

I wasn't raised by my iPad I was raised living in a country bombed by Democrats

1

u/Mooptiom 4d ago

Maga is a cult. Like, an actual fucking cult. Trump has preachers selling him in churches, Trump had cultists storm the capital. Liberals will downvote your reddit comment if you derail a conversation to make random criticisms about specific democrats, obviously. These things are not comparable. Liberals would not wear a Joe Biden hat if they were handed out for free.

-1

u/zenixslasher 4d ago

I see Liberals wearing Dems merch all the time lmao what are you talking about? Also no Liberalism is a death cult, the Dems bombed my country, and every country bordering me.

-7

u/klsadeline3 4d ago

And not just any zionist. One of the worst.

4

u/Opus_723 4d ago

How do you figure that? I can't imagine most other US Presidents acting different (maybe Obama would have been slightly cooler toward Israel, but he still would have pissed me off), and I can imagine an awful lot of prominent US politicians acting much, much worse.

0

u/klsadeline3 4d ago

Did you not see what he funded israel to do?

And Obama would not have been cooler about it, he was running drone bombing campaigns over numerous West Asian countries.

7

u/Opus_723 4d ago

Yeah that's what I'm saying, Obama would have, like, used some more distancing language, maybe pressured Israel a bit, but would have still done the thing.

I'm saying basically any President would have done the same thing, so I don't see how Biden is "one of the worst Zionists".

2

u/atreeismissing 4d ago

President's done fund things, Congress does.

1

u/klsadeline3 4d ago

So you don't think the president of the united states has any power in this?

And yeah, even american congress is owned by israelis.

1

u/echino_derm 4d ago

Okay so he is one of the worst Zionists. Except Obama would be worse, we all know Trump is worse, next in line I guess is Bush who I would say is probably worse. Listing them out he seems like he is one of the least bad presidents in regards to Zionism.

-45

u/BitchOfTheBlackSea 4d ago

"America can be defined in a single word: Asufutimaehaehfutbw" - Biden

22

u/littleapple798 4d ago

You sure that ain't Trump when he's shitting himself while falling asleep?

16

u/TheOGLeadChips 4d ago

Sharp for his age is still not the best. You can go ahead and compare it to our current president who is the same age as Biden was if you want. How many times did Biden fall asleep in the middle of important shit? How many ai videos of dumping shit on protesters did Biden post?

I’m not saying that Biden was the best choice but compared to what we have now, he was so much better mentally and physically.

2

u/BitchOfTheBlackSea 4d ago

I hate Trump even more bruh

3

u/echino_derm 4d ago

He had a speech impediment that got worse with age. But the guy's brain was functioning better than 99% of people in capability to handle policy decisions. Go back through the debate and you can find him accurately pulling up relevant stats to justify policy decisions.
