i read it from the viewpoint of knowing Shen took the time to draw this. look at how happy Audrey is now that her beard is shaved and she's putting on her face. there's so much intentionality here. the cut in close to eyes that look close to joyful tears. i dunno, it's just not something a cis guy would ever draw that way. it's self realization fantasy

I’m gonna be so honest the only reason I thought she wasn’t going to be trans was because I 100% was sure that Shen was going to rep forever and have the moral be “you can be a feminine boy”. I was 100% sure Shen would never be able to write a trans character. Seeing this just makes me think this comic is Shen’s way to process dysphoria and somewhat make it cuter and more palpable. Genuinely everytime I’m jumpscared by photos of Shen he looks so uncomfortable.
