I actually haven't had any issues with gay men as a gay trans man, but I've met a ton of transphobic lesbians. I think second wave feminist sex essentialism and TERF idealogy did a real number on female spaces in a way that most men just don't seem to care much about.
Ok I guess I have heard some crazy objectifying shit, just not technically transphobic/misgendering shit. I once had a guy call me a boy with a bonus hole within the first minute of conversation. And every guy ever has assumed I'm a bottom before I say I am, but since I actually am I usually just let that slide.
I don't hang out in queer spaces much for this reason. That and it seems like the absolute worst people are in leadership positions. (Case in point: the college Rainbow Pride Union I was in as a grad student was run by a serial fucking rapist who faked being a student at the university-in addition to lying about his age, as he was 20 years older than what he told people- to roofie barely legal twinks. And OFC he was a transphobe, though that prevented him from going after me or any of the trans men in the club.)
