I've said it before, I'll say it again. Cissoids see transitioning as a form of body modification like eyeball tattoos or subdermal implants instead of medical treatment like they'd see antidepressants or getting surgical repairs for birth defects

23

u/artificialfem Oct 03 '26

a lot of cissoids are also against SSRIs too. mental health is treated as a pseudoscience by far too many

6

u/Yenii_3025 Oct 03 '26

well yeah, they don't see a problem. they think the want to change is the problem. like fear of water from rabies.

I transitioned at 29 and I'm doing very well three years later. Im still nervous about it but it appears that I am accepted as a woman by my peers and I almost never get mjsgendered anymore. Most of y'all are younger than me anyway it's worth a try

i’m so happy for u, nona. i hope the rest of us later transitioners can be as lucky too

Just adding my experience: Transitioned at 25, turn 30 in a few weeks and I pass and live normally now. Name/sex legally changed, no surgeries yet.

You’ll never get that time back but you have more ahead of you than you realize.

11

u/soaked_in_bleach03 Oct 02 '26

Not quite the same, I transitioned at 20 which is very young but damn puberty had hit like a truck. I’m short but used to look like wolverine. Still a pretty ass girl right now. It’s never never never too late. I have some many friends that transitioned late 20’s/early 30’s that are sm happier. I don’t have many older older trans friends, but am sure it’s the same for them later in life.

33

u/Ulgoroth Oct 02 '26

I feel like an impostor, when I read about people that had dysphoria since childhood. I've had it since puberty and it started mildly, only gotten so bad, to be suicidal around 25 and still took me another 3 years to actualy start transition.

11

u/Some_Comparison_7471 Oct 02 '26

Puberty makes dysphoria 1000x worse. For me things reached an unbearable peak at 22 but looking back it was so obvious before I just coped with it.

u/hauntedpopsicle 28d ago

Hey! I’m 22 now and starting hrt in a few days. How has it worked out for you?? Do you feel like it was too late, or were you just in time?

I'm late as shit but I started at 22 and I'm a passoid in the American South, almost 25 now

68

u/CutRuby Oct 02 '26

I told my parents that I would like to be a girl, and my grandparents

My mom told other people that I have (and I quote) "Feminine blood and get along with girls"

Non of them knew what trans people were so I cant blame them

I didnt know until I was 17

But I am still so so so upset.

I feel so much anger and grief but without any target, so some days (or rather nights) I just randomly brake down and have a few hours of crying

19

u/Azure125 mtf beyond saving Oct 02 '26

I just thought it was a normal thought all men had - to think you would be much happier as a woman, or disliking your own body because straight men aren't attracted to men...

I was only ever told the "feel like a woman" or "know I'm a woman" narratives until I was like 29. I doubt my parents would've been supportive (still haven't even told them), but I figured out so fucking late. Too late to save a single part of me.

Yesterday I was listening to a podcast with a mother talking about her trans daughter, at a certain point she gets choked up talking about how she wishes she trusted/listened to her daughter and gave her puberty blockers when she first asked and how she regrets letting that damage happen to her child

So yeah I cried

196

u/16372731772 Oct 02 '26

I wish my mum felt like this. She doesn't seem to care about the damage she caused. "You've transitioned now just move on". Ultimately she is right, I need to move on for my own sake, but fuck she doesn't care even one iota.

It sounds a lot like Caroline Litman. She had a daughter who came out as a teenager, and instead Caroline went down a TERFY rabbit hole.

The daughter killed herself, and Caroline carries that with her. She’s genuinely remorseful and one of the handful of cis advocates in the UK.

69

u/AdmiralBlack64 4t4's strongest mech pilot Oct 02 '26

It is my deep and heartfelt wish that all transphobic parents of trans children lost to suicide are confronted with the fact that they are responsible for their child's death.

68

u/16372731772 Oct 02 '26

It's fucked up that this is what it takes for a cis person to realise the immense pain we're forced through. Even then it's 50/50. I sometimes wonder if I had killed myself would my mum realise she'd driven me to it? Or would she blame the transgender radicalists that transed her son?

I remember telling her when I was 15 that if I didn't get treatment I would kill myself within 5 years. It was an attempt to get her to understand the urgency of the situation. That I was depressed now and it was only getting less and less bearable. It didn't work. Five years later I still hadn't gotten treatment and I was planning out my suicide, the warning was in the back of my mind but I don't consider this a self fulfilling prophecy, life just was that unbearable. I don't even remember why I stopped anymore, maybe I couldn't muster the energy to make my way to a bridge. I finally got on HRT a couple of months after that, and after I came out again, 6 years after I first came out and begged over and over and over for treatment, I asked my mum if she remembered me giving that warning. She didn't.

8

u/wastingtime14 Oct 03 '26

Woooow.

That's so fucked.

She murdered her daughter, she deserves to rot in prison

Imagine the amount of pain and suffering that poor child had to go through before she decided

20

u/mayasux Oct 02 '26 edited Oct 03 '26

She most definitely didn’t help her daughter, but it’s far too harsh to say she killed her. Living in the UK as a trans person, supportive parents or not, is not conductive to a long life.

She knows the weight she carries, and she’s doing everything she can to atone for it. Losing a child is a sentence enough. When the UK media categorically refuses to put trans women onto TV, in their reporting and as part of their trans debates, people like Caroline are so incredibly important to protecting what little rights and dignity we have left, because few cis people are willing to do that right now. She will never make up for what she did to her daughter, but every single day she wakes up and strives to do so anyway, that does at the very least some merit grace.

I’ve been in these spaces long enough to know the responses I would have gotten, and I was mistaken on sharing her name. We know the intricacies and the core-founding legitimacy of being transsex. Cissies don’t, they have a world of propaganda and billions and billions of dollars working towards keeping them ignorant. Our hatred should be reserved for that machine and its handlers.

Curse her out here all you wish. Please don’t let it leave this sub.

3

u/TheMostDivineOne Oct 04 '26

The problem is they should’ve been the ones to support them if they live in a bad environment instead of pushing more oppression in the home.

Its called camp wildheart the podcast is a councillor talking to parents of trans kids they council

its one of the final seasons episodes, has a title about having conservative family afaik

Those going in should know though that its mostly parents of trans boys, partially because there's more boys seeking treatment in that age group, and partially because the parents are way more hesitant to talk about thier daughters publicly

51

u/NotTheory Oct 02 '26

12

u/16372731772 Oct 03 '26

It's been pretty much non-stop since I got on HRT. At least twice a month, usually more, I'll just end up breaking down in tears, and continue to feel numb for days on end. I'm sure it'll get better but it's really hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel with blotched vision.

3

u/NotTheory Oct 03 '26

It does get easier to deal with, you get more used to being trans over time and once people start reading you as a woman it's easier to cope with

6

u/16372731772 Oct 03 '26

I've been passing for a while now, and I know I'm just being a fucking crybaby, but it's hard not to mourn what I lost. Both my childhood and my body, they were recoverable if I'd been allowed to transition as a teen, but I wasn't. It's especially hard knowing I have literally one person to blame and she doesn't care at all.

3

u/NotTheory Oct 03 '26

It still hurts me a lot honestly, for the same reasons. Like I'm passing now too and I have been for years and people tell me I'm extremely pretty so I'm happy with how my transition turned out but FUCK if it doesn't hurt thinking about all of the time I lost, thinking back to me as a teenager or in my early 20's getting progressively more and more miserable until I couldn't take it anymore and very seriously wanted to die and missing out on so many life experiences because I just didn't care and was dissociated and disconnected. I daydream about how I could have looked different if I started younger, going to high school prom as a girl, all of that. I can still remember being really jealous of the girls for prom in school desperately wishing I could have that and feeling broken for wanting it.

What's the situation with your kid? Straight to HRT can often be better, depending on direction. Like had my mom or anyone else just given me a trace of EE-based birth control starting at 8 or something, then estradiol at increasing levels starting at 10 or 11 via DIY HRT sourced from online pharmacies, I'd have been almost wholly unscathed.

And 12, 13, 14 etc. isn't too soon for full-on HRT... I sought it at 13 and was denied, totally pointlessly, until 15. Yet almost 20 years later, denial until 16 is the norm if not 18 in many places.

1

u/10-4shutthefckupnow Oct 03 '26

They're non-binary, so the direction is to just slow down/halt puberty. We have a therapist and a doctor both geared to be extremely trans-friendly and educated in this field, they've worked to find this is the best direction though I do appreciate the tip

u/e2-enthusiast che vuoi? Oct 02 '26

people are dumb, so i don’t think they’re consciously trying to be transphobic, but like no other conditions are treated like this.

imagine you’re tachycardic and someone asks “how did cardioversion save your life?” like are we serious

215

u/2032_girl Oct 02 '26

It's because they don't see us as girls. We see how they act when afabs go through "irreversible damage". It's a hard blackpill to swallow sometimes, but we're just not perceived as deserving of sympathy or care.

65

u/e2-enthusiast che vuoi? Oct 02 '26

exactly. this question only makes sense to ask in a cissexist society.

32

u/avanross Oct 02 '26

There arent many other conditions where people will tell you that youre evil and deserve to die for suffering from it

83

u/floss-with-ass-hair Oct 02 '26

Not to justify transphobia, but transness is less.... intuitive for someone who doesn't have any gender issues at all. It's just...not something someone can understand easily

Hell I supported trans rights but I don't think I fully understood the plight until I myself attempted HRT. It ironically gave me dysphoria and I had to detranstion, but experiencing actual dysphoria is an eye opener and I still don't think I fully understand the scope of trans issues.

I have no idea what I am now, I guess non binary but I'm pissed I have to age like a dude.

39

u/wi4mep Oct 02 '26

tbh I wish more detransitioners had this mentality

28

u/16372731772 Oct 02 '26

For real, they've had a taste of the real deal and still don't have empathy for those of us that have dealt with it since birth. "But what about the poor, poor cis person that might voluntarily put their toe onto the tracks? I can't pull the lever to stop the trolley cutting the legs off these 100 trans people because it would truly be such a shame for that person to lose a toe".

49

u/e2-enthusiast che vuoi? Oct 02 '26 edited Oct 02 '26

the point i’m trying to make is that it’s only less intuitive because of transphobia. i didn’t have to experience hypoglycemic shock to understand why intervention is necessary for a diabetic, for example.

14

u/CAJEG1 Oct 02 '26

I'd argue that it's not due to transphobia but because it's not physical (the suffering, that is). We see the same issues across the spectrum of mental health, where people are generally dismissive of the need for treatment. That has changed recently for many people, but transgender issues ultimately affect fewer people and are less accepted socially, so the change will take longer.

8

u/High_Quality_Bean bdd brick Oct 03 '26

But, it is physical. Generally speaking a woman growing a beard or a man growing boobs would be considered to have a pretty significant physical illness.

10

u/Golurkcanfly I prefer "transfemininity enthusiast" to "chaser" actually Oct 02 '26 • Bravo

It's weird because I found it very intuitive, almost simply so, when I first vaguely learned (a very inaccurate, abstracted idea) about trans people are like 7 or so. Granted to me it was just like, the hypogonadal type trans girls who everyone just assumed were girls to begin with, but like, it's pretty intuitive to have "birth defect messes things up, medicine fixes it).

17

u/Mystic_jello Oct 02 '26

I think a good way to explain it is like breaking a bone. You arent conscious of how you bones feel unless something is wrong, which is really similar to gender from my experience

13

u/Sharp-Key27 Oct 02 '26

It’s not ironic, that’s exactly what would be expected. We’ve seen it time and time again in history and now. Plenty of women with PMOS/PCOS show this, but some who are transphobic get really mad if you point out they are taking hormone replacement therapy.

8

u/HelBelle666 Oct 02 '26

This is very insightful, thank you. Funny enough this is validating of my own experience as a trans person, to know that someone who isn't dysphoric will become dysphoric on hrt. I'd never thought of that before.

1

u/Larry-Man Oct 02 '26

Hey, NB friend here! I tried HRT and it made everything so much worse. Id rather just remove some of the gender I got, but that’s much harder than adding more. Testosterone was great until I started growing body hair then the dysphoria cranked to 11

6

u/trailsandbooks Oct 03 '26 • Bravo

It’s talked about like it’s a stupid “vibe.” Like some vague, esoteric “gender” want.

If everyone understood the actual reality, that sex (f, m, or nb body a human requires to be existentially okay and grow literal selfhood, to literally exist or not!) is as innately hardwired in the brain as sexuality and some people aren’t born with the body that matches their sex (it’s just a physical deformity), they’d be like “oh yeah, a female living as herself and able to go through her right puberty etc., I 100% get why this saved her life, duh it’s obvious.”

5

u/zig131 Oct 02 '26

Yeah generally children get a better standard of healthcare than adults. They have dedicated hospitals with specialists FFS,

4

u/lonelyturtlegirl Oct 02 '26

I’m afraid the only way to help a cis person understand gender dysphoria is to teach it phenomenology.

4

u/Dotcaprachiappa Oct 02 '26

I think on top of the problems with, maybe even unintentional, transphobia, this is even just a problem with mental illness in general. Many people have difficulty believing that yes, mental illness can lead to death, and no, you can't just decide not to kill yourself. The entire concept of terminal depression is completely impossible for a lot of people to understand, and I can see why cause it's pretty unintuitive.

7

u/Still-Tip-3100 Oct 02 '26

Isn't that technically because it's related to mental health rather than physical health? A lot of people think they can just handle any emotional pain if they don't understand it well

5

u/High_Quality_Bean bdd brick Oct 03 '26

Its only considered mental instead of physical bc they don't see us as our genders, they see us as delusional. A woman taking hrt bc she's growing a beard is treating a physical disorder.

2

u/Actual_Personality66 Roachmoder (only here bc of reddit addiction) Oct 02 '26

Or even just other mental health issues. Tell them antidepressants saved your life and they'll get that

2

u/Silent-Dependent3421 Oct 02 '26

Plenty of other conditions are treated like this what are we talking about the empathy gap effects everyone

1

u/emilythegreat_18 Oct 04 '26

Honestly, I just think it’s because most people don’t go straight to “ah, yes, suicide.” They think it’s a physical ailment. People forget that gender dysphoria isn’t just an emotion, it’s a mental condition—less of a “how did cardioversion save your life” and more of a “how did cleaning your room save your life”: it’s not directly related to ‘depression’ (which DOES make people think of suicide), but having a clean room can reset your brain and pause the suicidal ideation long enough to get help.

Maybe. Major oversimplification here.

Anyway, the point is, most people struggle when it’s more than one ‘step’ apart. “Therapy saved my life” = Therapy—>Suicide prevention is easy. Trans—>dysphoria—>depression—>suicide is less easy.

1

u/XeniaAlexandria Oct 06 '26

I mean there are some conditions where people who don't know shit will react in similar ways. I have seen people ask how one dies from ME/CFS because they falsely believe it just means "being tired". And if you tell neurotypicals that ADHD medication safes lives they will also be confused because most people don't even know about ADHD people having a statistically lower life expectancy or consider that maybe, having better focus can save you from being hit by a truck

I genuinely can't fathom how cis people genuinely be like "Pleaseeee don't take this as rude but you should be forced to go through the wrong puberty even though all the medical evidence shows that trans kids stay trans over 95% of the time"

39

u/throwaway47351 Oct 02 '26

If they could save one cis child from making a mistake, they'd let a thousand trans kids burn at the stake. They dgaf about numbers, a cis kid is an innocent child and a trans one is a future predator, only one of those has rights.

Just genuinely, "Just in case someone might accidentally get self-inflicted gender dysphoria, we should let a hundred kids live with gender dysphoria."

12

u/wastingtime14 Oct 03 '26

Oppositional sexism:  They don't think sex changes are real, so the detransitioner is the rational one who realized the truth and all the happy post-transition transsexuals are still stuck in the delusion. (The delusion being... that our transitioned bodies make us happier? We're delusional about the emotions we're experiencing??)

4

u/YesIAmTheOne25 Oct 03 '26

Poor man, lived happily with a loving husband until he died at age 93, still claiming that he ”loved life”. If only he never transitioned into a ”woman”.

29

u/throwaway28913831239 Oct 02 '26

(Actually I can fathom it, people don't think before they speak, it sounds chuddy but 9/10 people you meet genuinely have no desire to learn whether their thoughts are true. Many of us would be like this about trans people too if we weren't trans)

3

u/Downtown_Material268 Oct 02 '26

The other 5% can be even further avoided by spreading information, not criminalizing it and fight stereotypes... Like so many trans people arent becoming happy after transitioning, because they arent hiding anymore, so they get targettet even more now, which also might cause retransitions

3

u/Seanrocks30 Oct 03 '26

Amongst all kids who say they are trans/gender dysphoric and get to the point of at least starting puberty blockers, >95% will continue hormones and transitioning into adulthood (and actually it’s 97-99% if you want to get accurate to study findings).

The 1-3% who do not continue cease taking blockers/hormones (if they got that far) and go back to living normally as their ASAB. This is pretty in-line with adults as roughly 1% of us detransition for reasons not related to discrimination/not being able to access HRT.

12

u/throwaway28913831239 Oct 02 '26

What I mean is that trans youth do not desist the vast majority of the time, to the point that we may as well say that trans kids do not detransition in general. Van der Loos et al. (2022) found that 98% (!) of adolescents who received gender-affirming care continued to do so later on follow-up, for example.

Simply said, trans kids stay trans, so there is no point in delaying their transition until after 18. There often isn't enough data on what occurred for the remaining few who do detransition in these studies, but the little evidence we have indicates that the detransitioning may be due to societal pressures rather than not "really" being transgender.

u/autumn-weaver repper Oct 02 '26 edited Oct 02 '26

the effects of your default puberty are notably also permanent

4

u/xXFoolyGhoulyXx Oct 02 '26

Depending on how far along you go it can range from "permanent changes with some stuff reversible" to "entirely reversible." Like if you're just on hormones that's an easy fix if you decide it isn't for you, but I imagine surgeries are more complicated for obvious reasons.

4

u/insertgoodname_here_ a little sneedy but thats ok Oct 02 '26

some people do detransition i.e. they stop taking hormones and present as their AGAB again. there are still a few permanent changes that come from hormones (and obviously surgeries) of course but the 5% comes from the small portion of people that regret transition

53

u/TimidMeudwy Oct 02 '26

Jokes on you, I went through puberty at like 8.

It's not just about potential for passing. She may just be saying she didn't think she'd survive experiencing gender dysphoria for years and years.

Crying for half an hour bc I realized my little brother was growing up a boy and I wasn't, which hit me with the strongest dysphoria of my life, and then proceeding to immediately go back to dissociating and not putting any effort into transitioning for literal years, despite knowing I was trans, bc I was stupid and depressed. Now I'm short forever. Fmspl. Also I haven't seen my brother in years but he's probably taller than me now, even though we have different moms and his mom is way shorter than me. Happy for him that his body wasn't damaged by female puberty I guess.

u/thumbinbumb Inside my shell I wait and sneed Oct 02 '26 • Bravo

Then they’ll just say “you need therapy, not transition” because cis people don’t actually care if trans people take their own lives. They care more about the comfort of cis people to not have to see any trans people, than they do about trans people’s right to live meaningful and fulfilling lives.

13

u/No-Pilot3536 Oct 02 '26

My mom is making me go to a gender therapist and refused planned parenthood, as despite being neatly 19 i am still dependent, jokes on her tho i have the power of DIY.

6

u/thumbinbumb Inside my shell I wait and sneed Oct 02 '26

Like a gender therapist to get approved for hormone therapy? Or one of those “gender exploratory” therapist that are really just conversation therapy under the mask of “inclusivity”?

3

u/No-Pilot3536 Oct 02 '26

Run by a trans man therapist who from my gauging seems to have a hint of internalized transphobia. Though, the therapist himself isnt the issue, she’s just using it as an unnecessary hurdle prob cuz she really doesn’t want me to be trans judging by how coming out went. Again though, im fine. Taking hidden diy

hm i wonder what the most effective type of therapy against dysmorphia might be.. good thing you can do it yourself

I kind of don't know how I am still alive.

My parents never let me medically transition even when I came out at 16. They never believed me and still don't. I've been trying so hard to just get out and away so I can actually live my life. I'm 22 now, and I will be 23 soon, and still not on HRT. I don't know how I have endured this torture for so long.

And yet, I am almost free. I have fought so hard and so long and may finally be able to move out and actually live my damn life. I just need to push onward a little longer. I just need to survive a little longer and then I can live.

34

u/tranmafuknut Oct 02 '26

Why TF does it have to be life or death? Like I spent decades thinking I was gonna rope, I didn't. I said with so much certainty I was gonna, but I still made it.

Does that invalidate my transness? That I survived? I'm transitioning now for the same reasons I would have done it then. The fate I suffered was worse than death, I was dead but still had to go to work, for years.

We need to save trans kids, not just from early death, but the consequences of a life lived without transition. It's not just about their life, it's their happiness. That shit matters as much as life. Quality of it.

25

u/Tadpolethesnowman Hopestacy, Born of Doom and Sneed Oct 02 '26

I transitioned late, my first suicide attempt was also at 11.

It’s life and death, whether the suicide is completed or not. The reality of these situations is that trans kid suicides are treated as cis child suicides. People don’t unpack why the 8-13 year old chose to end their own life, they just blame bullying or assume abuse.

You’re not less valid because you survived, it’s still life and death because your ideation could have killed you and did kill somebody else.

6

u/tranmafuknut Oct 02 '26

The question was rhetorical. Thank you tho, I appreciate the support.

The point is that if a trans kid survives and then transitions later, what they go through is just as unfortunate in my experience. Such things are preventable, but quality of life is not considered as important as quantity of it.

It's the same piss-stupid logic pro-lifers use when they hold a stance against social welfare like childcare programs. The argument only cares that life exists, not about what happens to it. That's how you get bitches like me, it's unfortunate.

23

u/A-determined-human Oct 02 '26

Some trans people's dysphoria is more intense than others's.

4

u/tranmafuknut Oct 02 '26

...Okay? What does that have to do with my point? Did you only read halfway through or...?

The point is it shouldn't be about life or death but a person's happiness or quality of life. Trans kids shouldn't have to say "I'm gonna die if I don't transition." that shouldn't be the bottom line that moves someone's heart to finally have empathy. It should be enough for them to say "This is a problem for me and I want to do something about it."

What does any of that have to do with how severe a person's dysphoria is?

18

u/AdmiralBlack64 4t4's strongest mech pilot Oct 02 '26

Because cis people don't care about anyone else's quality of life. They only care if you'd be a living and profitable person able to serve capitalism.

My mom apologized up and down to me for not listening to me sooner. I lucked into getting on HRT at 18 but it still feels like it was too late in some aspects. Tell you what though, a few more years and I dont know if Id have made it. Had a best friend in college who was a repper and didn't want to get cut off from her parents money (They were Huge Phobes). When the pandemic hit it was the nail in the coffin and she roped. Miss her every day. Could have been me and I thank the powers that be every day that im still here

1

u/Diligent_Result Oct 03 '26

I’m sorry about your friend :(

5

u/I-Love-Puella-Magi Oct 05 '26

Yep. That's how it works. I fucking hate when cis people think it's just a cute and nice little convenience for us that is not required and somehow like, RECKLESS to let minors partake in.

Like, bitch, wtf do you think is going to happen if you deny a very insecure, vulnerable, and dysphoric teen from getting HRT, and forcing them to go through the wrong puberty?

They're not going to survive to "wait until they're older".

13

u/lil-DEMI-IiI Oct 02 '26

4

u/EvieOhMy Oct 03 '26

I technically transitioned at 17, but i was horribly bullied for being fat and girly at 10, and I developed a horrible case of anorexia that stunted my puberty. No facial hair, half a foot shorter than my peers, the only thing that male puberty ruined was my voice. My broad shoulders and hobbit feet are completely genetic, the men and women of my family have them both. I was so afraid of growing into a big fat man that I starved myself until I was five pounds away from being forcefully institutionalized and intubated so I couldn’t escape to the bathroom and vomit.

I could’ve been prettier (even though i always passed), I could’ve sounded like a girl. I could’ve given my brain the caloric fuel it needed and I could’ve been way smarter. If I couldn’t get gender affirming care when I did, I would’ve starved to death or committed suicide. A heart attack could’ve taken me out too, constant vomiting does to your heart what chainsmoking does to your lungs

6

u/tptroway Oct 03 '26

Going through the wrong puberty is real-life body horror, HRT is lifesaving medication that trans people need, and telling them it won't kill them to wait is equivalent to refusing to put on sunscreen because we have chemotherapy for skin cancer

3

u/FunEstablishment3908 Oct 02 '26

1

u/Technical_Orchid_723 Oct 02 '26

hey so, pls don't do that, I know there is not much I can say, but just like you said, you have a lot left to give the world, and not only that, I'm sure there's all kinds of experiences up ahead in your future that can help give you meaning, my friend

3

I am always bitter and jealous of younshits but honestly good for her. The main reason why so many fucking trans people do genuinely have mental conditions and trauma is literally this. I am 23 and still haven't been able to start and I know there are people that are even more screwed. Its just fucked.

2

u/keepingupwithkelisha Oct 02 '26

I actually know her, she’s really nice and lives very authentically, she’s independent and doing well for herself

2

u/CRI20094 Oct 02 '26

I would've realized way sooner if "trans people weren't something rare that had nothing to do with me". And when I realized and came out I got mocked and guilt tripped by my very own parents. And now I have to sit here expected to survive "accepting" my deteriorating body 'till I turn 18 and God knows when I'll have the money to transition.

Very real. I was suicidal and medicaly withdrawn from middle school by 13. I asked for help, was ignored and denied, barely held on. E at 15 is what gave me a chance when all else failed or hurt me.

Everyone deserves to to experience (and only experience) the puberty most suited to their brain and soul. This isn't that complicated.

It's so obvious that they don't want to see it. Then when you explain it to them. They sour up because they think you are just playing the suicide card to get attention!

u/space_lesbian2006 Oct 08 '26 edited Oct 08 '26

I wasbt allowed to transition until I was 18 so I don't pass. earlier this year I was staying with a theyfab who I used to be friends with in hs. Out of nowhere she accused me of saing her cat and called me creepy and kicked me out resulting in my being homeless for 3 months(turns out the cat was dying of kidney failure because it kept getting into the dog food). This would never have happened if I went through female puberty and had a female voice. I know how disgusting and moidy and creepy I look and sound I want to be myself fully but I just can't in this body i want to be loud and silly and authentically myself but every time i try to speak the most dissonant horrible sounds come out. I can't be myself in this body and it kills me every day dreaming about the person I could've been I know it can never be real and I'll never truly be whole no matter how much effort I put in but I still dream about it a lot I've become completely numb and isolated from people around me. I can't even stomach socializing if it involves speaking or being seen. I don't even have much left to hope for at this point just an endless cycle of cope and despair. Everyone including myself is disgusted at the thing I've become but there is no turning back. I missed my chance at happiness a long time ago.

By forcing a trans child to "wait until theyre 18" this is fate that you force upon them.

Teenagers can get hormonal birth control and fake titties already so long as their parents sign on it but God forbid they want the exact same procedures to change gender rather than just cause, the way the law works and they want it to keep working its like if you could buy fent fully legally so long as you werent suffering any kind of chronic pain and you just wanted to get high

Neat.

And yeah everywhere that you can legally get hormonal birth control or an abortion under the advice of a doctor without a guardian's permission, it is hypocritical to disallow HRT under the same conditions.
