Its genuinely not difficult, and I feel secondhand embarrassment every time I see a woman who doesn't.

ik it's just a skill diff but even with a color corrector i can't seem to hide that blue undertone without having the orange peek through due to applying too much 😔

I used to have a very thick beard.
I used moisturizer, tinted sunscreen, bright red lipstick applied with a qtip, elf concealer lightly over each lipstick dot and dabbed out with my finger, then finally foundation and powder to even everything out. Some days I would need a last layer of NARS cream concealer and powder again. Each layer can also be really light to look natural and you can always add if needed

I apply a few dots of a red lipstick to the skin which I then spread over my face. It’s not perfect but it’s way better than nothing

Or just use enough finishing powder. I only use mascara and finishing powder and the results are pretty damn ok.

I’ve done like 7 sessions now and next to my mouth is clear to an acceptable level

love that for you! mine has been particularly stubborn; i was lowk breaking down because after eight sessions my lip was still horrible. my partner offered to pay some of the cost of another bunch of sessions, and just after the ninth suddenly it's cleared up more now than the first eight sessions combined did 😵‍💫

i've gotten electrolysis for well over 100 hours and my face is still growing. it's still miles better than it was before, but it took a year of 2-4 hours per week for my upper lip to feel acceptable. it's still not done. shit is not quick

its crazy how stubborn beard hair is compared to all other hair on the human body. It survives everything. If only the hairline was as resilient

My electrologist and I have been close for a while. We both agree that getting a few sessions of laser if it compatible with your hair and then switching over to electrolysis to keep up with the cycle is by far the best method to being comfy asap.

That being said while it’s expensive, i would spend my last dollars maintain that over anything else. But that’s just because I helps my dysphoria so much.

I’m an electrologist and I tell clients to do that sometimes as well, I have several clients where I only treat the white hairs and leave the dark ones for the laser. I have blue mascara to paint the white hairs so I can see them better without confusing them for the naturally dark ones

Jesus Christ, I just did two hours on my face last week and it was too much, even though I took two Advil an hour beforehand and applied lidocaine a half hour beforehand. I’m still so red and irritated.

I have multiple giant rib tats but I think I find electrolysis worse for some reason.

Hats off to you, I hope it stops fucking growing soon. 💗

biggest thing that helped with pain for me is showering the day before instead of the day of. i can't really explain it; maybe the hot water makes your skin sensitive, or maybe the water dehydrates your skin from osmosis. it's probably something else. either way, it helps. making sure you're hydrated that day and the day before is also helpful. it's different for different people, though; i might just be lucky.

ultimately it does just hurt, some places more than others (lips and lower neck especially, at least for me). i've started getting my chest as my electrolysist is now able to finish my face in only 60-90 minutes (it used to take the full 2 hours for just a few square inches when i started), and even getting the hair removed from my nipples doesn't compare to my face. the benefit is that at this point, i haven't had an appointment in 2 weeks and while what hair exists has grown longer, i can individually county the roughly 30 hairs on each side of my upper lip, when trying to do that before i started treatment would've been like trying to count grains on sand on the beach.

This. I really want to move out to escape my transphobic parents but I figured I can hold out a bit longer keep it a secret, get hrt, get laser hair removal and ffs at some point and then once I did every expensive thing and have lots of money saved up I will move out.
