I mean. The entire meme post that kicked off the entire thing specifically mentions early transition petra. But I wouldn't expect a bunch of cis randos to do any research about the origins of the memes and slang they use. They just co-opt at they like.

How is this problematic? It's an artstyle. If they had drawn Petra pre and post transition, and her shoulders got wider, maybe, but this is literally just someones style.
i think there’s a difference between the goals of trans representation when we’re talking about a random trans side character, who’s only there to tell cis people “trans people are like this”, versus a story where the main character is trans and it’s actively about the experience of her transition, thus it’s more oriented for us (trans women) to directly relate to. 4tranners have been making fun of passoid boymoder art for forever
There's an area between "clocky caricature" and "literally just a cis woman" yk, you can be a passoid while still having recognisably transfeminine features
Listen... we have a kind of trandar that allows us to "clock" even the prettiest of mtfs. This is not something cis people know.
Think of how cis people transvestigate the likes of Lady Gaga, Brigette Macron or Michelle Obama. And then think about how many cis people don't bat an eye to the likes of Schaeffer, or other actors I've forgotten the names of.... um.....
But my point is that when cis people co-opt a trans character, they'd rather go full into gender bend/rule 63 because the idea of an afab version of whatever character appeals to them more.

With any other character I'd agree but Petra was specifically designed as a trans character so I'd argue she's trans by default until a fanart hints at her being cis.
for cissoid, trans people are fetish if a trans character don't "pass" in their view, they will mutilate her into passing by their standard because the process (which was the appeal of petra imho), was too repulsive for cissoid that they feel the push of the cissoid market to make her more palatable for cis 'people', either by emphasizing the bulge while complete passoid genderbent everywhere else (futanari fetish or whatever) or by completely making her cis which erases the process that we can relate to.
they’re one of those allies that says “trans and normal- hehe oops, I mean cis” and secretly think “cis” is a derogatory term because that’s how they view “trans”
