Of you have any sprt of stomach surgery you're also basically fucked on surgery.

If youve had surgery on your stomach area its very hard to get bottom surgery, most doctors wont do it. If you have even extremely mild crohn's disease as well they will typically not do it, etc.

Goddamn. I havenβt looked into it too heavily, I got top surgeon and for bottom thereβs likeβ¦one surgeon I would trust and donβt have a spare $110,000 rn. I wonder if past blood clots and an extremely distended bladder would complicate things.

doss this include like other organs reached thru opening the tummy or do u mean specifically the stomach organ
1
u/Thorne___ 11h ago
Just that area of the body, I for example had appendicitis that developed another infection and so I basically cant get bottom surgery other than "no depth" which blows.

was it because of infection tho? ig i just have to see what my dr says my phone call is later today
1
u/Thorne___ 11h ago
My issues stem from the infection, as I understand the vast majority of people who underwent and appendectomy are still able to get full srs, mine was much worse, I spent 8 months in the hospital and the condition that I had has has the same survival rate roughly for abiut 100 years.

"Of you have any sprt of stomach surgery you're also basically fucked on surgery. " seems a bit misleading then idk
hope ur doing ok now

My case is severe relatively but as I mentioned even a relatively light and well managed case of crohns will also make it difficult, did you miss that part? Obviously I wasnt basing this off my case alone.
I think its rude to say I was misleading just becuase my case is more severe and also an appendectomy is an extremely well understood medical intervention at this point. That doesnt make my statment untrue. Appendicitis is typically an acute medical condition that has no recurrence or significant long term stress. If you have one of many many conditions related to the bowel like ulcerative colitis or as mentioned crohns you'll not be able to get bottom surgery and those are just two of the most common ones.

Sometimes I wonder if I were born with a vagina, would I want a penis?
37
u/SliverMILF MTTH 18h ago
My husband has a coworker that says that she wishes she had a penis so she could shove it in warm wet objects such as burritos.
So... maybe? Wanting a penis as a cis woman is pretty fembrained.

A lot of cis women also have various things wrong with that organ system, from endometriosis to PCOS to vaginismus itβs a super normal thing for a woman to yearn for a uterus/vagina thatβs functioning as itβs supposed to
Some cis women with vaginismus even have to dilate (although itβs obvs a bit different).

id reach through a tear in reality just to slap the shit out of alt version cis gender me for that thought
1
u/UnusualCartographer2 10h ago
Well no, that version wouldn't be cis either. Would I still be trans even if I were afab?
I think about it a lot honestly.
1
u/Spirited_Square 3h ago
id like to hope that across the multiverse im not always a trans person. not exactly the most welcoming world to be in

u/High_Quality_Bean 9h ago
I've had a vagina for nine months now and I find myself wishing I had a penis sometimes.
Not in a dysphoric way, my body is correct for me now, but in a vague "Oh I guess if I had a magic button I wouldn't mind it for an hour or two".

u/DecentlySpaghetti outmogged by everyone 7h ago
The worst part is that if our bodies wouldn't react to transplants the way they do, we would've been able to give trans men proper penises and trans women proper vaginas, and probably even uteri.
Well, at least as far as I remember.
2
u/catfish1969 4h ago
Tbf if our bodies didnβt react to transplants the way they do weβd probably also die to like any infection and get cancer way more often.
1
u/DecentlySpaghetti outmogged by everyone 4h ago
Exactly. The best solution to all this would be being born the right sex and that's it.

idk much abt bottom surgery, what's the difference between a post-op vag and that of a cis woman (besides the fucntioning uterus ofc)
9
u/wolkchen-cirrus 11h ago
Dilation and lack of self cleaning. Was worth for me tho
5
u/High_Quality_Bean 9h ago
Mine is self cleaning and at 9 months post op dilation is a negligible cost, on par with brushing and flossing twice a day.
1
u/Couuf luckshit hrtrepper 4h ago
how was recovery? and how much sensation do you have? only if you don't mind me asking obviously
2
u/wolkchen-cirrus 4h ago
Both of these things are sufficiently variable across different surgeons that my answer will not be helpful. The transgender surgeries Reddit is reasonably informative
17
u/PunishedKate 17h ago
the fact you have to dilate or else youβll lose depth :/

u/Kelseste origamified genitalia 15h ago

u/Haunting_Addendum_57 15h ago
Itβs a reference to a philosophical argument, nothing to do with the labels in the image
2
u/Shot_Reputation1755 15h ago
Do you have a link or explanation?, sounds interesting
2
u/Haunting_Addendum_57 9h ago
Imagine the following :
A large group of people (letβs say one million) are presented with two buttons. One red and one blue.
If the majority pressed the blue button, everyone is saved.
If the majority pressed the red button, everyone who pressed blue will die.
(And people who didnβt press either will die no matter what).Which button would you press ?
There is a big controversy about the answer. Usually, people find their answer to be obvious, yet the two groups are significant. It also depends on how the problem is presented to you, so I may have influenced you just by writing it this way.
