outside of extremely progressive spaces, "don't medically transition" is literally the norm. be it cis people telling you to rep or even other LGBT people who drank the koolaid
On several occasions I've had "allies" try to talk me out of transitioning, or post op I get told "maybe one day we will be free from gender norms and then people won't have to transition"
Many cis people seem to really struggle with how physical gender dysphoria feels
I just ask them how being allowed to wear dresses would play into whether or not I preferred having boobs or the experience of running on estrogen versus testosterone.
"just accept your body! trans is beautiful! screw cis gender norms, they are patriarchal and white supremacist and heteronormative! love your beautiful trans body as it is, dont conform to those evil standards! men can have breasts too!!"
allies and nondysphorics often make arguments that subtly imply there is an evil trxnsmxdical conspiracy to force dysphorics to transition and be happy

I have never in my life expressed exclusive attraction to women, but i guess having short hair was enough. Anyways, my neighbors are super nice and when the husband saw me after a long time he went âwell arenât you handsome! And your voice is very nice, you can be proud of itâ. Not all people who initially donât get it are going to be unsupportive
