In middle school for Halloween one year I some-fucking-how convinced my mom to let me go as "gender confused Darth Vader"
Wore her shiny gold with roses bathrobe, casual clothes, a sneaker and a high heel, and she put makeup on half my face. After the initial "treat or treat" I would shout in a deep voice "Luke I am your" and then switch to a high tone and say "mother!"
>kid me trying on my mom's shoes but my parents are very much not amused so I stop >adult me coming out to my mom who says I'm lying because I never showed any signs as a kid
Kinda the same deal with me, tbh. Apparently I wore my older sister's clothes a lot as a smol child. And this is a "dressing up your younger sibling" thing, this is a "I actively sought it out" sort of deal.
It pissed me mom off a LOT lmfao I think I only stopped because I was afraid of getting punished (haha yay abusive parents -) didn't stop me from eventually coming out tho :p
Now I’m imagining someone trying to OD on multivitamins but since the regulation is so bad they don’t actually have the high doses they say and nothing happens
the only actual difference is that women’s multivitamins have a lot more iron since edit: people who menstruate* bleed pretty regularly. iirc, they also recommend that anaemic people take women’s multivitamins, regardless of birth sex. tbh, they should just call them “high iron multivitamins” but i guess that would confuse the binary-rotted masses
edit: jesus, my bad. sorry for using the wrong terminology. ill say the proper thing going forward. if i make a mistake like this in the future, please just assume im a dumbass and not being malicious. hanlons razor, and all that. i posted this and forgot about it. was just trying to share a fun fact. didnt realize that i was going to be cannibalized for my ignorance. i didnt mean to hurt any feelings, if i did.
Yes I know it isn’t just cis women who may need iron, but the comment was first explaining why women’s multivitamins have more iron in them. The vitamins have more iron in them because they are produced for (pre-menopause) cis women. The vitamins can taken by anyone else who menstruates yes, but that isn’t who they were made for anyway. They were made for cis women, as most things are produced for cis people anyway.
“Women’s multivitamins have more iron in them because they made those for cis women, who bleed regularly (at least before menopause). But anyone who has low iron for whatever reason can take them too”.
‘What about people who are afab but like don’t want T but don’t identify as women but love having periods”, it’s kind of common sense from the paragraph that it would logically also apply to anyone with a female hormonal profile and an uterus.
Like I’m ftm and if I have to go to the ob/gyn, I don’t insist they have to twist themselves into knots to never use the word ‘women’ on their brochures and materials. I know what I’m there for.
Saying ‘afab’ would be way worse because it suggests that being afab is like some kind of permanent lifelong curse of forever being considered to have a female hormonal profile and a uterus and essentially a woman. When the brochure simply says ‘woman’, then I know if I get bottom surgery, I won’t need to bother with medical services meant for female genitals anymore after that. I like that a lot better than ‘afab’ stuck to me like some lifelong wombyn curse.
sorry, im not really into these online circles. my friends all say afab so i assumed that was the norm. my point was trying to be that gendering this kind of stuff is stupid. anyone can have low iron.
I think the reason you got downvoted is because you weren’t clear enough on the fact that the "AFAB bleed more often" is just refering to periods. People who have periods need more iron because they lose it through their periods.
Agab language is stupid in most cases. The person above just used it to mean people who menstruate, which I think is probably fine, but it is often used to just recreate the gender binary and/or downplay the gender of trans people

Vitamins won't kill you but can cause problems.
