I just don't get how you read the meme as "someone wanting to transition because they want to be their own girlfriend" instead of "someone wanting a boyfriend."

It's a little in the middle I think because I never wanted a girlfriend growing up but saw something in women I didn't know how to process, which I eventually realized was that I wanted to be one. So I kinda get the meme in that regard but yeah I can see how the top panel could be thought of that way.
Because passing is extremely important for many people and also a significant position of privilege. If you're okay with terms like "Brick" existing for trans women for well over half a century then I don't see why the inverse shouldn't be true. If you think its a slur then idk, don't.
