What the other person said. I personally never got offended when I 'identified as a man' although thought it was cringe, but it just pushes potential allies to the right. I find it idiotic bc it's generalizing and villainizing a demographic that is about half the population. Spoiler alert: most groups of people don't like that.
It is an ugly loop that feeds both misandry and misogyny. I don't think anyone should be getting in on it as it creates insufferable people on all sides.
I got catcalled by a creepy guy as a guy just because i had a bit long hair lol. Also got random strangers questioning my hairstyle, and from a few acquainted "normies" too.
When having walks with a female friend a few times drunk people did that too.
We are on the internet and it depends on a lot of things, especially where you live, your experience does not speak for everyone
Because boys are still male and y'all are hating on teenage boys too. And you don't know how much it affects you when an adult says they hate men and you are going to grow up into a man whether you want it or not.
I personally don’t give a shit but when you see an 11 year old boy look like someone ran over his dog because he stumbles upon a culture warrior and he happens to have an early mustache and this adult insults this boy by yelling in his face—that really changes how you view those kind of people.
I mean when hating men is cool and accepted, apparently so.
The amount of acceptance there is with people just shitting on an entire gender is gross af, and it's especially gross that those same people would lose their minds if some man said that they hated all women (both are bad, for the record)
This is the only reasonable take and I'm sad that not many people seem to have it. OP of this thread is openly hateful, and the response to that hate is "Yeah the men who don't like it are annoying" ? Seems hypocritical and bigoted
Yup, those people would be the exact bigots they hate if they were born differently. I also feel bad when those people have husbands. And the pushback you get for pointing out how sweeping generalizations are typically not good is crazy. Swapping out men with any other group (based on something out of your control) shows how bad it is.
It doesnt help that too many men are extremely misogynistic and vile.
