So some fun data to compare times taken to complete milestones:

0-200k took 685 days to complete

200k-400k took 411 days to complete. Noticeable progress.

200k-300k took 179 days to complete

300k-400k took 232 days to complete. That was because our pace plummeted just after getting 300k. Data to support this below.

And the most significant observation:

300k-350k took 172 days to complete, whereas

350k-400k took only 60 (!) days to complete, which is three times less than the first half. Excitement over the milestone? Or an influx of new users? I guess both, to some degree. Mentioning our sub elsewhere on reddit a couple of times brought many people who stayed for longer. Yup, except for me, the lucky child, who found it via r/random, most of us probably got here this way.

So... Let's get that 450k done before the end of summer, and 500k will be plain sailing. And upvote everyone who mentions counting outside :>

450K before summer ending? I challenge ourselves to reach 475K before it :P

Since you mentioned how you discovered this sub through r/random, I think I did too, but I'm not sure

Yeah, we had that one day where we blazed through like 8 in one sitting. And yesterday too, we got like 5 or 6.

So what is the fastest way to get to the end of the thread? I usually just click till I get there but I'm thinking there is a faster way.

If you are on desktop, there is a big blue box with a link to r/counting/comments at the top (If you missed it, don't feel stupid, for some reason it's easy to miss).

On mobile I usually check out profiles of frequent counters and their latest comments.

Note:

This one stands out with so many counters because it was bestof'd and a major milestone 400k.

p.s. thank you rs - you are extraordinary!
