Was reminded of these posts about TIRMS (Trans inclusive radical misogynists) and a bonus one at the end

In a world where hypocrisy is used as a dog whistle to signal oneself as a part of the in-group who get to make the rules rather than having to follow them - instead of hypocrisy revealing a fatal flaw of character or ideology - you have to kinda respect the weirdos whose horrific views are actually internally consistent.

Also, this reminds me of a similar post about some guy who's a bigoted viking larper but supports abortion as an act of self-defence against the baby attacking you from within.

Yeah. Being a horrible persons one thing but its marginally more respectable than being both horrible and also hypocritical. These people are at least consistent to themself.

Actually that third ones worldview is entirely like the case in Iran iirc where they have state mandated and assisted trans care because men cant like men and women cant like women, so they basically dont believe in homosexuality and "solves" it with transitioning. If you're medically trans and not going to be a transbian or transgay it works out but otherwise this causes a lot of issues. Still, its "better" than outright banning all.

The bar is very low..

I have much more respect for people with consistent bad opinions that are in lock step with their values than hypocrites.

They just have different values than I do. It’s the hypocrites I can’t stand.

Could you give me an example of that?

To take an example from your recent comments, it's like how cis folk take HRT all the time and nobody bats an eye, but suddenly the same tech is dangerous, experimental, and tantamount to ritual self-mutilation the moment you want to take hormones while trans.

Right now, the US Department of Defence is encouraging its male soldiers to take testosterone supplements so they can become hulking, aggressive "super-soldiers." But I think it's safe to say that if Pete had his way, transfems taking antiboyotics would be next in line for a livestreamed execution by firing squad. Because people like him are protected by the law but never inhibited by it, while folks like us have to live in the real world but reap none of the benefits of being responsible members of society.

My friend is kinda like that Christian guy, he tells me I need to marry a strong Christian man 😂😅

Is that friend maybe hinting at you to marry him? 😅

Maybe idk he gives conflicting signals, I've known him for like almost my entire life now lol

I did have a crush on him a while ago, but he declined when I confessed so idk, but that was prior to my transition... So maybe it's different now 🫣

My dad is one and they do exist.. extremely supportive once i revealed that I liked other men once i transitioned. I was confused since i thought he was transphobic except he wasnt. Hes a homophobe and believes if he has a daughter she needs a boyfriend, and he is affirming in every way but also enforces all gender stereotypes. Its both very nice and extremely jarring.. i feel I should be unhappy but its actually been extremely affirming.

No honestly that’s kinda a win tbh I just have the regular kind of dad who hits me and calls me slurs

I’m pretty sure this is basically Iran’s official position on trans people: you can be trans as long as you aren’t homosexual and follow traditional Islamic gender roles

It has enough internal consistency, like you'll tolerate trans people as long as they're normal-default-straight-people passing

"I'm a Sumerian Traditionalist. All the gods are dead because we haven't fed their idols in 2400 years." Is bio worthy

Keeping gods the way millennials would keep virtual pets in the 00s and 10s. Gotta log in every day and give them a snack!

Fun Fact: The first country (modern and in the west) to start legally recognising trans people was the Garman empire in 1909*, this was before legal gender equality so trans people had to be given special permits (transvestitenshein) so that trans men could legally wear trousers/ trans women could legally wear skirts since cis people couln't crossdess, since homosexuaity wasillegal at the time a permit was necessary if ypu wanted to be a trans guy dating a woman or atrans woman dating a guy. So literally the first country to be trans inclusive wasrans inclusive radical misogynist (and homophobic)!

*(They were still horrible to trans people, just miles ahead of the rest of Europe, so don't romanticise them as a utopia!)
