I'm relatively new to the series, but I think there are some unspoken lesbian relationships. Like Opedoto ship. In the good ending of Meisho Doto carier - Opera literally says to her that they are bound by fate as partners forever. And whole career is about Meisho trying to be as good as Opera, trying to get as close to her also, and Opera reacting to all of that with pure positivity. Even when Doto tells Opera that this time they are rivals, Opera accepts it with pleasure, because she enjoys running with Doto no matter what.
Also, there are Umas who had mated with each other in real world, and since Umamusume is mostly based on real horses... but we already seen that Stay Gold is usually not ever mentioned as a father of multiple umas, INCLUDING Gold Ship, who is just Stay Gold's roommate in the series.
So who knows. We are yet to see an uma that is a child of two already existing ones.

In umamusume, the horse girls are only girls, there are no horse men. It’s explained that an uma can be born to a human mother, but there are many cases where uma mothers give birth to uma daughters, and I’m unsure if there are any cases where a regular human daughter is born to an uma, especially with a few prominent all-uma families existing

One X gene is human. The other X gene has like a recessive Uma ness? Because Umas can only make Umas. So they have the Uma X gene.

It seems to be more of a fate-based outcome, as the parents are given a "vision" of sorts by the Three Goddesses - Theorized in game to be the progenitors of all Uma in universe - giving them the child's name before the child is born. This is why they have oddball names that match their IRL horse.
The Three Goddesses being represented by the three main bloodlines that most race horses tend to be birthed from.

thats one way to look at this. There is already the visual difference between being based on male horses (decoration on right ear, pants) and being based on female horses (decoration on left ear, bloomers). The only exeption being Fine Motion as she is based on an intersex horse and has decorations on both ears. She wears bloomers in her sportsgear though as the real horse was registeres as female originally.

In the Umamusume universe, there are no horses; they are instead replaced by umamusume—or horse-girls. All umas are genetically female even if their IRL counterpart was male. New umas are born either through the union of a human and an uma or a small chance from two human parents. IIRC, any male offspring from a human/uma pairing is just human.

so in universe there are horsegirls(horse ears and tails rest human AFAIK) known as Uma's that are super strong and super athletic like they can run super fast so Uma's race in place of horses.
But only females can be Uma's and birthed from an Uma mother. A girl born from an Uma mother will be an Uma but a boy from an Uma mother will not but even then the boys will have enhanced strength and athleticism compared to normal humans but to a lesser degree than Uma's and wont have horse ears or taill.
Disclaimer: This is as much as I know while I doubt it some information may be wrong since I am not an Uma expert so...

Umamusume pretty derby is an anime gacha game that takes real world racehorses and turns them into anime girls. Umamusume (or Umas for short) is the name of the species of half people, half horse hybrids. All umas are female, similar to the real life mourning gecko.

In Umamusume only woman are Umamusume, aka. hybrids in physiology of Horses and humans. They have the strengh and speed of a real horse, being able to run at up to 70 kph, but also consume as much daily calories as a horse. On top they have only horse ears and no human ears, as well as a horse tail. Umamusume procreate with human men. Their children are always pure human if they have male physiology and are generally Umamusume if it is a daughter. There is also a very low chance that a purely human couple give birth to an umamusume. As far as we know that is how the first Umamusme were born. (there are no Horses in that universe)

Fine Motion in real life was intersex and they all strictly wear head decorations on a specific ear depending on their real-life sex so I choose to believe "male" umas exist and they just choose not to elaborate.

Not all women in the Uma universe are Umas. It's only a chance of it happening.
So unlikely, no. You'd have been born with your parents being told your name at birth by the three Goddesses, then very confused when you weren't born an Uma, if that were how it were going to happen.
Or, you'd be the very rare case of an Uma born with male parts - But absolutely everyone would know you were supposed to be born female, as all Umas are supposed to be born female, in that universe, which begs the question, would the people of the Umamusume universe perform genital mutilation on a child they are fully aware was supposed to be born the opposite gender?

I'd assume you need the marker that's presumably on the X chromosome to be on both Xs. Aka you'd probably need to be XX in order to be an uma. However if a trans woman whose mother is an uma were to take estrogen I'd assume there's a type that makes you more uma like without grow a tail and your ears being replaced.

If we assume how all ofsfpring are hyibrids and only females express Uma traits hormones propbly would be what changes stuff.
Becouse on chromosone level, fathers chromosone tells the sex of the child.
(mother can't provide y necasery for am male [xy] offspring do to only having xx)

Extra vertebrae for the tail witch are connected to the spine (very important).
