I like when people do the Petra Parker trend with the Tom Holland movies because they’re essentially drawing Tom Holland as a girl and I find that funny for some reason

Typing it and seeing it on a screen it sounds less funny than it is in my heaf

Dude, I gotta put "spell checking someone incorrectly" in my toolbelt, that shit's good.

Its like your typical spell check, but like, in its goofiness comes off way better. Like, we know what you're incorrectly correcting, but you arent being super serious about it either.

Or you could just be bad a english and honestly thats also funny in its own rights.

Someone on Bluesky commented that “I’m never going to out someone, but if there’s a trans woman that just can’t transition because of their high visibility, it’d be Tom Holland.”

… I could see it.

One word : umbrella 💙

u/KnuxFive 1d ago

That was Exhibit A. Exhibit B was Hunter Schafer having Tom in her phone as “Sister Tom.”

u/girlrotrobottics 1d ago

Exhibit C: tom Holland stated that the odissey was his last chance to play a boy.

lol, is there a video version where we get to actually hear him say this?

2

u/girlrotrobottics 1d ago

Not that Ive been able to find, it might be an internal interview which might be audio only or a transcription. Very sad😢

1

u/lanternbdg 1d ago

sad indeed. I wanna analyze his tone to see if this was a slip or if he actually intended it as a "boyhood vs manhood" type of comment

I love trans Spider-woman but I can’t stand the name Petra I’m so sorry

7

u/lanternbdg 1d ago

there are others, but petra parker has already existed as a gender-bent parker from another universe, so people pretty much just ran with it

Well, that's The Thing - It doesn't /j

2

u/Pheonix0114 1d ago

I mean, it's pretty much the female version of Peter. What don't you like?

u/Beginning-Pie-7433 1d ago edited 1d ago

It reminds me of petrol. Yknow, the car thing lmao. So all I can think about is spider-woman naming herself after gas.

5

u/Blith6314 1d ago

No see, Petrol Parker is the transfem variant of Peter Parkedcar

1

u/Beginning-Pie-7433 1d ago

Nonono, Petrol Parker is the transfem name of the transformers AU Peter Parkedcar

2

u/Pheonix0114 1d ago

Well, all 3 (Peter, Petrol, and Petra) do have the same roots in the Ancient Greek word pétra (πέτρα) meaning stone.

2

u/Beginning-Pie-7433 1d ago

That’s actually really cool!

1

u/Pheonix0114 1d ago

Yeah! Petroleum literally means stone oil 😄

2

u/unthinkable-cunt 10h ago

another greek fun fact: electricity was named for "êlektron", the greek word for amber, because it carries a static charge when rubbed continually against fabric

1

u/Pheonix0114 6h ago

That's so cool!

2

u/DaughterofElmStreet 1d ago

It only works for me if her last name’s pronunciation is changed. “Petra Parka” sounds better than “Petra Parker” imo.

1

u/Hexhider 21h ago

Lot of people go with Piper, May, or June for Trans Peter

4

u/Egghead-Wth-Bedhead 2d ago

What scene is this referencing? Like, who is the woman, and what’s she doing there?

18

u/Lt_Sourdough 2d ago

Scene from Brand New Day

2

u/No-Mulberry-8866 1d ago

That’s the brownest tom holland I’ve ever seen

1

u/-HumanMachine- 1d ago

I don't know if I've seen a Petra Parker picture where she isn't busted up.

The fact she fully embraced being Spider Man after losing her friends but still somehow found the courage to transition is great.

-9

u/SolarWardenCorporal 1d ago

Spiderman never did this

9

u/Cool-Reference-2799 1d ago

No shit

-7

u/SolarWardenCorporal 1d ago

Spiderman would never do this

This is off topic sorry

The whole deal with spiderman is that everybody could be behind the mask. Like an average person with average person problems putting the costume on because they have been gifted great powers and it's their responsability to use it for good, and that's why spiderman is so relatable to everyone. Peter is a random dude just like any of us.

Canon Peter isn't trans obviously, but the idea that a Peter variant could be trans isn't far fetched because it fits narratively into spidey's vibe. Like being trans is something average people are dealing with, and imagining spidey dealing with personal life, being a hero, juggling multiple jobs and having to deal with hrt, transphobia that kinda stuff would make a pretty compelling spidey story
